Thoughts based on the Live Letter?

Most particularly, what do you think we can read into this line "We’ve also made it so that you won’t run into problems where you are not able to collect the necessary materials like has been the case in the past."

I'm hoping it means the new raid gear doesn't use favor mats nor folklore mats, but maybe I'm too optimistic. Would think it also implies don't needing any sort of rare dungeon/trial drop.

I'm personally hoping they were referring to the dravanian mistletoe/abalathian rock salt/coerthan tea leaves debacle.

I think they are going to open up more opportunities to obtain red scrip materials based on that statement.

That was under one of the "Land and Hand" sections ... I may be reading too much into it, but I think it may be an adjustment to Favors. I'm GUESSING that the new combat gear recipes (and others, as well) will be off of Favor nodes. Currently, you spend two RGT on one set of 5 Botany and one set of 5 Mining Favors, but you are only guaranteed 5 ooids/whatever per RGT. With needing 20 gathered items (10 mining, 10 botany) per RCT, it is easy to see needing more RGT to make up the shortfall from the 5 Favors you just used.

I think it's a case of them increasing the ooids/etc. guaranteed per Favor (just guaranteeing 2 per Favor would be awesome), simply increasing the chance of the favor stuff appearing, or removing the red scrip cap enabling you to get more Favors per week. Another idea that occurs to me would be increasing the number of favors you get per RGT.

I wonder more what the "adjustments" they plan on making to the Hand and Land classes will be, and what the "hot fix" on the 25th is going to add. On another note, why not just call it what it is? 3.2DoH/DoL Patch :P

I'm not quite sure what you're meaning by "guaranteed" ooids off of favors/RGT. In a normal 5-favor/iRGT run I get ~18 ooid-class and 2-3 roundstone-class mats. (Numbers lower by ~4 and 1 for most BTN favors setsdue to them being worse in terms of distance & aggro)

From the 3.1 patch notes :
3.0 When using Matron's Favor or Trader's Favor, players will always be able to locate a hidden gathering point at least once under the effect's duration

That guarantees at least one ooid-class (as you put it) per favor, or at least 5 ooid-class per RGT.

Getting 18 ooids from one RGT and 14 from the other means you spend 2 RGT to get the stuff to hand in with only one RCT, with 8 and 4 left over, leaving you 2 and 6 short for the second RCT. That imbalance is what I was getting at, that they may be hinting they are trying to correct with that line in the live letter.

Im more believe they may remove the red scripts weekly limit, or moved the materials to blue scripts.

As much as I hope for this, I sincerely doubt it. The devs dislike Omni-crafting and generally seem to want to force people down a more linear path of "pick one or two crafts."
