    The whole reason they're changing the Tank calculations is because Vitality wasn't the correct gear for Tanks in the meta they created.

    If Vitality was done properly in the first place and Tank skills & damage weren't scaling off Strength they wouldn't need to make these changes at all.

    because currently there is absolutely no need for more than 18k HP for anything. Wearing VIT beyond your comfortable Max HP threshold gives you absolutely nothing positive in return, while STR increases your agro, allowing you to use your utility and DPS combos over your agro combo, as well as increasing your DPS, and the damage of your moves, self-heals included. Sitting at more than 20k HP while also having the benefits that strength accessories give you would be arguably overpowered, if not detrimental, where skills like Living Dead are concerned.

    We don't know what will happen. Right now it seems that tanks will have better surviability. On the other hand SE could increase the monster damage to balance the change, which would make the content slightly more difficult.

    It is quite possible that it may happen. Remember how some healers were complaining that they can't heal as much? If they increase tank HP and mob damage, the healers will have to spend more time healing, not just the tanks, but also the dps jobs will take bigger hits, which will lead to even more healing.

    Except they said that the difficulty of Alex Midas would be ramped down, so I'm not sure where you're getting this from.

    Not any real point in the conversation, but assuming 'they' in this case is SE, SE didn't and doesn't create the meta...The players do based on what they perceive as best.

    This is probably what annoys me most about this game. The devs never admit to being wrong.

    2.0 - Warriors are perfect, the player base just needs to learn to play them - next patch they get buffs.
    2.0~2.3 - Dragoons are perfect, the player base just needs to get good - next patch 2.4 rolls around, positonal requirements are abolished, potencies are enhanced, Heavy Thrust damage bonus is buffed, B4B damage penalty is reduced, magic defense is increased (or was that 2.5?), Phlebotomize and Chaos Thrust are buffed, recasts are dropped, then dropped again later, and again later... but yeah, Dragoon was perfect.
    3.0 - Claims all new classes are perfect and we need more time with them to learn and that Warrior is by no means overpowered relative to Dark Knight and Paladin. - A few months go by, and Yoshida says "alright, so we're going to have to restructure the way tanks work altogether, 'cause this Tank Damage thing is making the other tanks really undesirable." ( thats also ignoring the fact that MCH and AST are again getting more buffs this patch.)

    Im not saying that they can't make mistakes or that they should be perfect. But constantly saying the player base need to learn to play the game better every single time then come out a few months later then say "Actually turns out -insert class- wasn't perfect and indeed needed changes-

    In 2.0 the problem was that people will always take double paladin so they had to make adjustments to encourage the use of warrior (the meta was double paladin so they had to make it more similar to paladin, i.e. 2 hard reductions and an immunity to dying). In 2.4 a bunch of jobs got shuffled (and we got a new job that was absurd on release) so singling out dragoon only shows that you are ignorant of what happened (and thus any words you typed have no meaning). In 3.2 a bunch of jobs are getting adjustments (video shows BLM with AF/UI at 12 seconds) so my second point is repeated. Making flawed arguments will only show how little you know about the game and why no one should take you seriously.

    Think he meant the tanks created the meta and SE wanted to adjust it to the way they intended it to be.
