I don't think so, I think you just need to finish the quest before the two Extreme primals. But still, do it. For Elidibus!

Oh, right. I've done that - I think. I never got around to doing Bis EX or Rav EX though. Mostly because I main a tank and within a few days of launching 99% of the parties wanted someone with experience.

Then again I didn't do many of the 2.0 EX modes until later in the expansion so I'll get them done eventually.

So, back to Sephirot.
Prerequisites: Players must first complete the main scenario quest "Heavensward," and have also completed the quest "Gods of Eld."

Totally-not-Elidibus-or-Elidibus'-servant is officially upgraded to MSQ, as Gods of Eld is the pre-BisEx and RavEx story mission, if you did them in 3.0 it was titled differently. Both modes of the battle require this, not just the Extreme mode. This seems to be one of those many side stories running tandem that SE said they were doing with 3.X.

Who's excited for more Elidibus? You, yes you! You better be.

Fun fact: They've updated it now to: Players must first complete the main scenario quest "As Goes Light, So Goes Darkness" and have also completed the quest "Gods of Eld."

Which excites me that it will not be more, how do you say, intertwined with the MSQ than a sidestory. Still don't need to clear Ravana or Bismarck though, which is a bit weird (you defeat them to stop them from waking up the Triad either accidentally or on purpose) but not really complaining as long as the Triad quests continue to at least need MSQ progress!

Yeah, I'm definitely excited that it's not just a side-story now, at least partially because of Elidibus, but also because the way we encountered RavEx and BisEx was waving huge red flags at me - being given an ancient talisman by not-an-Ascian that we use to attune and is destroyed immediately after certainly isn't a normal way of doing these things.

It's still a side story though, albeit one that's likely to be referenced at some point during the MSQ. Seems like the idea is from Patch launch you can go straight to unlocking the Story and Extreme modes of the fight, rather than directly weaving the former into the MSQ plotline, then gating the latter behind the current MSQ completion, like with previous Primals.

See, I don't see this at all. I see it as them doing the 2.X HM primals again. Originally, Ifrit/Titan/Garuda HM weren't required, but were eventually necessary to progress in 2.X.

That's almost certainly what's going on here. It won't be required as of now, but will be later. That's why I'm considering it MSQ.

That's almost certainly what's going on here. It won't be required as of now, but will be later. That's why I'm considering it MSQ.

I found out belatedly that the exact patch that Titan HM is required (and as it is the last in its chain, Ifrit and Garuda) came out in either 2.5 or 2.55.

I would agree with you as the quest required does not require Bismarck EX and Ravana EX completion but it requires a story portion quest that unlocks the quests for the Extreme versions. Not unlike the quests that led to Binding Coil of Bahamut or Ifrit/Garuda/Titan HMs.

I kinda like having the two seperated, it means the MSQ doesnt suddenly detract for a few quests to deal with The Primal Of The Month. As long as it eventually tied back in, I'm happy, lol.

Im really onfuse at this point . So the Hard Mode version will be part of Main Scenario yes or not?

It will be a side episode unlocked after clearing 3.1's MSQ. So, not directly MSQ, but not immediately accessible like Alexander or Void Ark either.

Hopefully it will merge back in later, because having mini-Eldibus lounging about in Minfilia's study will probably be weird in another year. Then again, they'll need to solve the EX primal unlocks he has on him too in a way that keeps them from being required lest he become Urianger 3.0.

We're really just arguing semantics until we actually see it in-game. However, look at this quote (from a 3.1 interview):

Yoshida: Of course, they will be an important character in the story. Looking back on the 2.X series, we believe that there was too much focus on the main characters, so based on that, we've divided the story of the 3.X series into several storylines and the content and main story will develop in parallel paths.

This definitely is implied to be one of those parallel storyline paths in the MSQ. See how it works?

Because it will likely be attached to the MSQ later in the form of being required to progress, a la Ifrit/Garuda/Titan HM in 2.5, it gives us the added probability that totally-not-second-best-Ascian-or-his-servant will have more screen time and a more important role, rather than just spouting off cryptic nonsense or giving us a side story that later turns pointless. It also means that it's not, as stated above, a "primal of the month" and has some fleshed out background to it.

That's why it's exciting for me.
(that and it means Elidibus isn't going anywhere like death in-story for a while).

So no, Fenral, I don't agree with you at all. I think we're pretty heavily in MSQ.
