Dravanian Mistletoe & Coerthan Tea Issues

I know that both Dravanian Mistletoe & Coerthan Tea were made available from a vendor in Ishgard shortly after 3.0 launch when it was realised that these are essential items for popular crafts. They may only be used in 1 & 3 crafts respectively but 3 of those crafts are basic materials used in so many more.

Both are gathered from timed nodes so are limited in nature, however, unlike other timed node materials they aren't available via retainer ventures. This makes gathering significant amounts very difficult, especially if you are trying to make HQ items at lower levels & require HQ mats.

Tea seeds are available but Mistletoe aren't. I've also found that when I planted 4 seeds using G3 La Noscean Soil I only got 9 NQ & 3 HQ. A low HQ yield.

TL;DR - These need to be available via ventures & Mistletoe seed needs introduction. Thanks.

I disagree that they need to be available from retainers. And using gardening specifically for it is kinda stupid, considering how VERY slow that method would be. You don't need hq mats for every single recipe, part of the challenge is making do with what you have and can get. And once you get end game crafting gear, hq versions of the tea leaves and mistletoe just wastes inventory space because it's so easy to get hq on those recipes with straight nq mats.

That's all well and good but when level 51 crafts require them there's little chance to get HQ without using HQ mats or risking RNG if you're a fresh Heave crafter. There's absolutely no reason why rarer items should be available from the retainer whereas something that is required for much of the level 51 to 54 items (in the form of leathers & Holy Water treated lumber etc) isn't.

As for saying that once you get to lvl60** it doesn't matter, well, that's just ridiculous. Nobody suggested that it was necessary at end game but when levelling it certainly helps.

The items you are looking for are used in materials refinement (turning skins into leathers, or turning regular whatever into holy whatever). Those refined materials are not the end product, do you really require all HQ materials to make something HQ? If so, it might be more a problem with your gear or your strategy.

Level 51 is not a trouble for those, check your equipment, at that level you could wear also the lvl 50 special mor-dhona equipment, those recipes are really easy if you compare them with level 50 *** recipes, and those can be made with just lvl 50 equipment. Also check your rotations. And for level up, you can turn-in leves with nq materials. the bonus is having them HQ.

It was a mistake to have the mistletoe and tea leaves be from unspoiled nodes in the first place given how important they are in HW early crafting. Put them in regular nodes and it becomes normal for the retainers to have access to them. All problems solved.

That's exactly what I mean, we need so many that it makes no sense that they're only available in the limited ways they are.
