And also here Yoshida apologized for Alex Savage and said that they don't use those strict DPS checks anymore in the next Alex Savage.

they didn't intended it and will fix it with the next raid tier. So, healer dps will be not required anymore to clear something. Only to speed things up, if the healer want. The dev's don't 'force' anything. They create content that encourages a playstyle.
Intention has nothing to do with it. They created content that encouraged it.
1. They provided healers with DPS skills
2. They gave each healer the ability to turn their main attribute for heals into a damage dealing attribute instantly
3. They made healing in dungeons toned down to easy levels
4. They rapidly threw gear upping the ilvls to the point that heals were more powerful than the content was tuned for, as well as tanks had more armor and HP than the content was tuned for
Between what they gave healers and how they tuned content, it opened a window for healers to contribute meaningful damage.
The fact that it was not intended is a failure on the development team. I'd like to hear ideas for how the development team could address that problem.
Hey, the minute they make content that absolute requires healing 100% of the time or else we will wipe, I will be the first to embrace that and celebrate it.
However, not making Healer DPS required to clear something doesn't mean that it's not still encouraged. As long as healers only need to heal 50% of the time, healer DPS is still encouraged because there's literally nothing else for us to do. As long as there's space to fill, people will go above and beyond. And we should be encouraging that, instead of discouraging it, because that's how players get better.![]()
