Valentine's Day items....

I guess Im just getting tired of items that I immediately throw in my Armoire because they dont look cool or serve absolutely no purpose. The monkey hats for example from the New Years event. EVERY YEAR we've had a zodiac hat. I still remember getting the Bunny-eared Samurai helms from the 1st New Year's event (if I recall correctly)... And to this day every one of those helms has sat in my armoire untouched. Why even waste the developers talents on it?

These events should be a reason to let the Devs have some creative freedom or a challenge to implement some nice or cool designs that would have otherwise been discarded. The furnishings are okay, but are kinda meh in my opinion...

Honestly...I am not one to complain about the stuff they put in if I don't like it I put it in my FC room that is basically storage.

This may be shocking. But they don't just design things for you. Just because you don't like or use them doesn't mean everyone does too. To say that its a waste of developers talents just because you don't like it is laughable.

I don't like them myself and sure would of liked different things, but im not gonna claim it was a waste of their time.

And while they could add something else for each season, like the sheep minion last year in addition to the sheep hats, they shouldn't stop releasing hats until they've done all 12 of them.

It's still a bit baffling that they haven't made holiday weapons yet, though. I can understand not wanting to make a new costume each year (how many variations on the same holiday theme can they come up with before it gets boring), but they haven't put a lot of work into these rewards since 2013-2014. With the exception of Halloween (mount and pet were nice, costume was a variation of the patrician set though), we've mostly been getting re-used art assets in the form of housing items and accessories.

Here's hoping that the Hatching-tide items are actually nice this year, because THAT holiday has been a let-down since 2.0 launched. But who am I kidding, we're obviously going to get horribly ugly egg bracelets or necklaces.

OBVIOUSLY I dont think they design things for just me...c'mon now. That would be and is a retarded argument to make. Sure there will be people who are okay with the items, and folks who aren't.
I am however, giving SE feedback requesting some more creativity and flair into their designs. And I am not the only one to request this. There were threads regarding this from the New Year's event. Trying something new once in a while works wonders. Besides, have you seen some of the designs the other countries have gotten for their events? Now that's creative! Or this year's Halloween event for example. THAT was a good change! We got a freaking mount! It had a USE and its design was completely unlike ANY OTHER mount in the game.

Then we get Monkey Samurai hats for New Year's. Again with the samurai hats.... Last New Years was Horses, and before that sheep, and before that dragons, and before that bunnies... but they all featured the same characteristic samurai helmet design. So I'm pretty sure next year will be helmets featuring whatever zodiac animal is 2017's. Doesnt feel like a lot of creativity went into that.

Now we're in Valentione's Day and it feels like the same old rehash. Nothing will change if we dont give them feedback so that's what I'm doing.
Obviously this is the kind of feedback that involves PERSONAL TASTES. That should have been clear from my first post. But since it wasnt I'll go ahead and add a disclaimer for you.

I'm guessing you've never collected something with the year inscribed on it. Or maybe the name of a city. Hard Rock Cafe shotglasses, or Starbucks mugs. Try to consider that there are TONS of collectibles in Asia that feature the zodiac animals, with a new one released each year, all of the same theme and style. The fact that they are releasing a new one each year indicates that they are committed to making a full set someday. It wouldn't make much sense, from a collection standpoint, to make a completely different type of item each year. When you have themed Christmas tree ornaments that say "2013, 2014, 2015" each year, it wouldn't make sense for "2016" to suddenly be a snow globe instead of a tree ornament and for "2017" to be a CD of Christmas music.

If they were really lacking creativity, they would continue to make them the same as in the beginning, with basic static red/ white /black designs. Try getting them out of your armoire and compare them. The sheep helm from 2015 has a physics effect to make it bouncy like actual wool material. The monkeys for 2016 follow a see/ hear/ speak no evil theme. I have no idea what they will do for rooster next year, but I imagine it won't be a static design with a basic pallet swap.
