Read it again, the OP never said it happened on HIS bard, he specifically states it happened to THE bard. OP never mentions what class he was and even so a quick search of the lodestone shows that the OP has a level 60 bard on that character anyways. So one can conclude this df run did happened on the Aether Data center and while this doesn't speak for the entire NA community, based on the info provided it is safe to conclude that Aether Data center has one ass of a tank.

This is normal. The ''good players'' doesn't have time to teach the newest ones the easiest rotations from lv 50 too.

Why are people entering DF if they don't have an idea on how to play their class? If someone is doing something odd, I assume it is playstyle and that they do not want how-to-play lessons. There are plenty of guides available on the internet, or they can ask for help outside of DF (FC/friend/shout/dunno). Much better to ask for advice when there is no timer. Hopefully the mentor system will help with that.

On topic, I highly doubt the "why" puts some terrible flag on his account. While he should have left instead of dropping offline, I don't think it's as big a deal as the OP makes. The attitude of the tank was rather poor though.

By fear of being kicked is that I did not yet do dungeon for Roulette Lv60 and Expert. I already have almost all the item iLvl 180 in my Sch, but already I imagine that there will be people thinking unpleasant things by I do not be 195+. I bought the expansion 1 month ago.

Perhaps I try when get Relic iLvl170 or 200. Still using weapon iLvl150 from craft.

I like to stay out of vote dismiss in general; I just wait for the timer to run out and neither vote for nor against it. But I wasn't aware that 2 votes are enough to kick someone from a party
I'll take a stronger stance against it in the future if I see something wrong with it now :x

And don't worry, OP. You were in the right. Now I wonder if that BRD actually left because of RL matters or if it was because of the bull the tank was giving him during the fight ._.

Maybe it would be good to actually have to give a reason why you dismiss someone. You just get a pop up where you HAVE to write/click a check box, that way the person who got kicked knows why and the one who kicks has to give reason (if they can't take the time to do that it means it's not that urgent). If I ever get dismissed I would really like to know what the reason was.

I don't really think it matters how you label the kick, just that you kick the player that needs to be kicked. For example, if you have an extreme case where a new player that doesn't know their rotation and isn't properly geared is holding the party back from being able to complete the dungeon because they think their job should be played a certain way and don't understand game mechanics and continues to play in a way that hurts the party, that player doesn't necessarily intend to harass other players, but neither is he cheating or afk/offline. So something's going to be inaccurate no matter what excuse you use for the kick, but the player still needs to be kicked or the party is doomed.

I think it only really matters when you're reporting the player.

for one, it is nowhere even close NECESSARY to kick anyone. For two, you need a reason to kick someone, system demands it, but incompetence is not one of them. For three, use a truthful reason when you kick someone and not something as bad as *cheating* or a blatant lie. I am not sure how you can still look into a Mirror and find yourself a decent human being when it comes to deal with others people.

You are one of the reason why this comunity is toxic, when someone finds it a *necessity* to kick another player, this is falling real bad down...you are what a god ? that can decide who is Worth or not Worth ? you really that above others to do that ?

I woudl remove that feature altogether and if someone is not happy he can leave...of course I woudl remove the penalty as well.


I wish that kick option would be considered much more in-depth and the person that abuse of that system be kicked for good from the game.

Does being vote-kicked actually flag your account? I'm legitimately not sure.

I have seen a lot of people being jerks in DF, with increasing frequency. I used to think it was WoW refugees, but an informal survey a few weeks ago suggested that there weren't as many of those as I thought (at least on the forums anyway). It's just people being mean, and that is quite frankly horrible. It's certainly not the norm here, and I've encountered far less toxicity here than in WoW, but that just makes the toxicity I encounter that much more abhorrent.

I've once or twice managed to enter into a philosophical discussion with such individuals, to attempt to correct them, but usually I just get ridiculed into silence until the end of the run.

That really sucks, OP. Hope you had some good runs after that to clear your head.
