    XP disable

Would anyone else like this feature to be implemented? I just got my first character to 50 and I have heavensward, so as I'm doing all these story quests to catch up my character will be leveling beyond 50. I haven't even gotten to ultima weapon yet (on the quest before it...) and I'm halfway to 51. This just irks me. I'd like to start heavensward at 50 and experience it as I'm assuming SE intended it to be.

Also looking into what I'll need to do to catch up before I can even start heavensward content, it almost makes me want to stay screw it and wait until they decide to let people skip the 2.55 quests. And this is coming from someone who enjoys the MSQ (I just don't enjoy gear grind or ilevel requirements for something that should be casual).

You'll be glad for that bonus XP by the time you get to 54-55 or so because there's long stretches where you are unable to continue in the MSQ without leveling up and your most reliable source of XP comes from some truly annoying side quests and FATEs.

Then again, you're a tank. You could queue dungeons all day if you wanted.

To the original poster: yes, I wish every MMO would include a toggle to disable XP gains as there are numerous reasons to want this (I, for example, would have liked to have been able to spend more time gathering my own hunted crafting drops without out-leveling friends I play with daily). Some MMOs provide this feature, but unfortunately most don't.

That's not necessarily the case. It really depends on how quickly you try and race to level 60. Spend two weeks or more doing it and you won't have any problems with content gaps and experience because (between rest XP and the daily clan mark tasks you're assigned every day) you'll be swimming in XP (and clan marks, which you'll want a good stock of anyway). I reached level 60 in Heavensward only doing each dungeon the one required time, and to this day still have a plethora of quests in Heavensward zones untouched.

Killing stuff in the open world gives so little experience that you won't even notice a difference by the time you get to 50+, though.

That is definitely not the case for earlier levels where gil is scarce and gathering your own items is more appealing that buying them off the marketboard, and an XP toggle wouldn't just be for level 50+ characters.

I can't even agree with your comment at level 50+, as I did try to gather materials from monsters in Coerthas Western Highlands during my early 50's, and considering the poor drop rates it didn't take long at all for all that XP to start adding up as noticeable difference in progress between myself and the friends I was trying to level with. In the end I had to just stop and rely on retainer ventures for my materials just to avoid the XP gains.

An XP toggle is a good feature for those who want it, and for those that don't ever see a need to use it they're certainly free to never touch it. Everyone wins.

You dont want to skip the content patch story it's really good and 2.55 is very important and sets up the expansion.

This. You'll only do the quests once per character...whilst at end game you'll be set to do the same dungeons over and over and over again. So there's no real rush - the content will still be there so take the time to enjoy the ride, especially if you're a fan of the story.

Heavensward was designed for players at or above at least item level 100 for the most part. If you're just at level 50, you'll probably appreciate being at level 52 by the time you get into xpac content.

All of the HW dungeons sync to one level above the entry level anyway. You don't even get access to the first one until 51 so you won't be out as far as you think.

Levl up another job to 50, do the 2.1-2.55 story with that job and switch later back to your main job for HW.
