That quest didn't give a title. It gave nothing except an achievement.

You receive your Zeta and the "Z" title together. THEN he has a red locked quest... which was very easy to overlook since for many people he ALWAYS had a red locked quest.

But yes, let's blame players for SE's bizarre coding decisions and poor patch notes. "If you possess a zeta you'll be able to buy a replica!" (false). If you completed an arbitrary quest which was in no way necessary to get your zeta, you can buy a replica.

Anyway, at least they're fixing it.

And this is why it's understandable how a player can miss the quest or the ability to get a replica initially.

However, I do think the players have to accept some responsibility if they are ranting and complaining about how important their Zeta is, how much time they invested in it, and how badly they want a replica. If you wanted it that badly, then you should have made 100% sure that you could secure a replica before you blindly turned in the original. The turn-in makes it very clear that you will not get it back.

Either way it's getting "fixed", and creating thread titles in all caps isn't going to make it happen any faster. Some people just need to accept that they missed it the first time (partially their own fault) and be patient.

Yep I traded in my 3 and instantly regretted it. So started the WHM one again (my main job) and finished the Zeta last week. I already had the replica, but it didn't feel the same (stupid I know) so I'm much happier now it's back again (and has better stats this time than my original, even though obviously doing the stats perfectly was completely pointless!)

I actually wonder what is really faster: making a new Zeta or farming these stupid 18 crystals...

Even with the nerfs to the original relics, pretty sure the crystal farming will be faster!

Well, it is kind of common sense that you would "lose" the item if you gave it away. Not really their fault you didn't prepare.

And again you miss the point. The devs said we could acquire replicas of our zeta weapons for glamour purposes, and that we would only be losing the weapon itself for the anima quest. THEN it was revealed that the replicas weren't available for people who hadn't completed that one quest from 2.5, which is only possible to do with the weapon that they've just permanently destroyed.

This wasn't intended by the developers, it was an oversight. Fortunately, it is an oversight that they are fixing in 3.2.

It's kind of difficult for players to "prepare" for developer oversight.

I'd say Zeta is more fun, though. Animus books are probably the only real headache left in the quest, Alexandrite and Light farming are incredibly brief now. Had quite a bit of fun soloing some of the dungeon requirements.

As it currently stands, speed doesn't even strike me as much of a factor... If I want a i200 weapon quickly, I'll farm i205 weapons off Thordan. Doing it casually, I imagine I can get at least a few Zetas in the time the i200 to i210 Anima jump takes for one weapon. Might as well get all the Zetas done for potential glamours down the road now, rather than rush through HW FATE grinding and end up "wasting" the Zetas in the long run.
