I remember when what is now called 'sugar coating' was once genially referred to as 'politeness.' Oh, those were the days! When being 'honest' wasn't considered a license for pointless discourtesy towards strangers you're likely never to meet again.
Please let me know the polite way to tell people they suck.
Can I offer some advice? Followed with a useful pointer. Or, if you're going to leave anyway, say: This isn't working out. Feeling the need to denigrate these poor fools on the way out is just mean. Life is punishing them anyway, right? I mean they already stink which is going to impact their gains, so why bother spitting on the floor as you're leaving?

I wish the community was better on the whole giving/receiving advice aspect. The past two times I've said " hello, new to MNK, experienced tank, please feel free to give advice if you see me doing something stupid " the tank has just left the duty.
On the flip side last night in DD, had a ACN show up. No job stone, two jobs to 50. Ran with no carbie for 1/2 and topaz for half. Generally only ruin spam... One dot about once a pull.... The run was already going bad, no one seemed to want to raise the issue and ask if s/he wanted advice.
The only job that doesn't have good AOE is PLD. The "but you have AOE" argument doesn't stand.

NIN isn't that great either. I had an arboretum run with 2x NIN + AST that i didn't time but it was definitely close to 30 min even with me dropping Grit at every boss and tossing sea urchins constantly.
At least i got dat sick slashing debuff :3

Good for you. Monk, bard, scholar and dark knight have exceptional aoe and you cleared in less than 20 mins. I'll delete my comments now since it's impossible to assume a degree of flexibility about how long it takes on average to run a dungeon based on my experiences.

under 30 minute runs - whatevs. over 45 minutes.... ewww. More than 60...
back on to the true topic. I am leveling my Scholar again, so I hope to post some stuff here on behalf of the tank that gets that lucky pairing....
There was a tank in Dusk Vigil who tested his hallowed ground macro just before the 1st boss. Paraphrasing: "You can't kill me!!" insert sound effect and {Hallowed Ground}. We kill the boss, next mob pull..... I let him die.... "/p The boss may not have been able to kill you, but I can - MWAHAHAHAHA"
I think I need an adultier adult some days.....
^ This x 100.
I run roulette content under 20 minutes all the time. My personal best with a PuG group was actually around (just under) 15 minutes back before 3.0, back when Tam-Tara Deepcroft HM was still an EX Roulette. I was shocked and dumbfounded by the speed we were progressing at, and I still can't wrap my head around how fast they we were going (I only hope that I can one day pull that kind of Dps on my Drg. It has become the goal since this run) ... but so what? Moving at break-neck speeds is fun and exciting, but in the end it's nothing special. The runs that stick in my head more than any others are the ones that go very badly.
On that note, my HM roll last night was in Neverreap. I had a SMN and a NIN on Dps. I was tanking on my Drk. Healer was a Whm. Everyone looked to be around ilvl 200, so I figured it should be a quick one... yet, for some reason, the Dps were moving like snails. I swear, the Nin must have been dropping Doton and then just auto-attacking for most of the mobs, and the Smn didn't seem to be using AoE's at all.
We took so long on the first pull that I actually ran out of buffs. I went through all of them before the mob died, and first ones I popped were just coming back up on CD. It was absurd. The entire run took more than 50 minutes, and I pretty much ran the whole thing without Grit (enmity was not a problem, because the Dps weren't doing enough Dps for it to matter). Thank god the healer was good, or we probably would have been there longer. I imagine my face looked a bit like that picture by the time I was done.

20min for current DREX is definitely not that good, considering most of runs for me end up in the region of 14-17mins for most, rarely 12-13mins.
However, we have to consider the fact that DF in JP servers have more players aware of doing their personal best DPS, comparing to EN that is. Therefore, the benchmark is quite different if you want to say.
