Anyone else regrets doing HW BTN/MIN job quests?

I knida regret doing HW job quests because +2 bonus nodes they unlock. They give Stone/Tree Whisperer trait at lv.53 which is counterproductive to Favors gathering (you get less Favors in a time period because have to empty +2 nodes when every second counts). And later they give pointless Luck of Pioneer/Prune skills which I don't think anyone uses in any of their rotations.

Favors have to exhaust. Ephemeral are the tag and go.

And yes the +2 are super annoying in that context

This could be somewhat solved with 1 new skill: Fell Swing (GP ???) Exhausts all remaining attempts on the next gather. Success/HQ is only calculated once and applied to all attempts.

It would also give a use for all of the 1-time buffs.

You unlock traits whether you do the quests or not, unless you'd prefer to be stuck at lv50 without HW access.

I use Luck/Prune occasionally if I'm trying to gather seeds from the older, non-timed nodes. Some of those things can be really stubborn in showing up on their own. (And yes, I know you can send retainers after them, but every now and then I find that I'm 2-3 seeds short of a patch I want to plant right now.)

Find +5% HQ node -> Leaf Turn II -> Gather, bail if not HQ -> Gather, bail if not HQ -> Prune II -> Gather -> If HQ, pop Luck and grab seed. (If GP isn't at max, I'll usually try to get a natural HQ first before popping LT2 to reduce RNG for spent GP.)

And I had to check, but looks like OP is right. Whisperer V comes from the quests. Now I am regretting it a little.

So crying for 2 seconds in a node of each 6 nodes?... i see more annoying that it take 2 seconds each hit regardless you are pushing the button as mad, overall the gathering node time should be halved...

When you're not just thinking about favors, though.....
it's very nice. Makes it less awful when trying to gather mats. I'll take the added......what, second or two, over not having the chance to get a Gathering + 2 node with King's Yield II up.

Ah, it's hard to say because the favor system doesn't seem balanced to me. Like, IDC on my MIN because I get the ultra rare item just fine. The +2 doesn't seem to effect me at all. This is not the case for my BTN though. I've been trying to get dragon's warts. Thus far, I've gotten 50+ wyr warts and only 2 dragon's warts. I think I have extremely terrible RNG (but then, I check the MB and only see one up for sale so many it's not just me.) So part of me thinks YES! but the rational other part says, well, do you honestly think you'll get dragon's warts or just more wyr warts? In which case I just have to shrug.

I honestly think it's worse that we have to use crafting red scrips to get the items. That's terrible. >.>; Yeah. I haven't done a ton of favor gathering. Don't really like it. =/
