When is the PS3 Version going to get cancelled?

I got a chance to play the PS3 version of FFXIV and it's not that pleasing. Basically playing a glitchy unfinished game. Kind of like Assassins Creed Unity with the whole bug fiasco. The game looks terrible and is just overall a bad game experience.

There is going to be another expansion just a matter of when. Why hasn't SE team announce a ps3 cancellation? The ps3 version is holding this game back. When the ps3 version gets cancelled there is no more excuses for extra retainers,more space etc. A Big graphic update is needed because this game is going to feel outdated pretty fast with so many AAA games coming out on the console.

They could take risks and put in stuff content wise they haven't because of the limitation of the ps3. Would be better if the next expansion was already being made without the ps3 so we can be surprised not get the same content.

"Glitchy and unfinished?" Now, the only time I played the PS3 version as during beta, but even back then XIV was neither of these compared to the PC version. Heavensward content on PS3 supposedly has some issues because the zones are too large and Diadem basically being impossible, yes, but I'm pretty sure none, or at least few, of the HW issues have anything to do with glitching or the port being unfinished. Its issues are due to the PS3 hardware, not the XIV software; you'd usually use "glitchy" and "unfinished" as adjectives for software.

I understand believing that the PS3 is limiting development of the game, but can you at least not directly lie about the state of the PS3 version?

Graphics update? I'm pretty sure XIV is doing pretty good on the MMO front. It's not competing with normal PS games - it's competing in the MMO market which generally has lower standards for graphics than normal AAA titles.

It should be cut off most everyone has a playstation 4 by now.

I have it and a ps3 but no point in playing it on ps3 because its free without psn+ on both consoles best choice would be the better product.
SE already did the transfer thing thats what I did and only ps3 is used for my old games.

It's not going to get cancelled anytime before 4.0, and it will likely still run 3.x for a time after. It'd be a bad business decision for SE to kill the service so quickly after releasing an entire expansion for the console

This is true. Here's the thing about the anti-PS3, and I'm going to be blunt: It's a very western-centric viewpoint.
SE is a Japanese company with a Japanese mindset and Japan's average populace tends to not invest in new home consoles as readily as the western market does and they keep their console support for longer. As evidence of this, Japan was releasing physical games on the PS2 for years after we stopped in the west - and they were selling. I believe Seekers of Adoulin was actually the last physical PS2 game? A physical release the west never got at all.

When SE feels that the PS3 version is no longer profitable, or worth the cost of keeping updated, due to how many players (or lack thereof) it has, then and only then will they drop it. Exactly the same as FFXI.

That being said, I do understand and agree with the argument for removing PS3 support, but I do not believe that time is now. Or even in the next 6 months.

PS3 is barely playable as it is, more content isn't going to help. PS3 FFXIV is already past due.

I'm not expecting FFXV graphics but with how Console games are evolving fast this game is going to look ugly.

Ps3 isn't a large base, anybody has number how many ps3 users? It won't matter because the ps3 people are going to buy a ps4. However the subs are low and ps3 limitations doesn't matter. You see how many complaints of the same content? PS3 is why

I think they will announce the 4.0 expansion at the fan festival that going on at the end of the year for release in summer 2017.
