It's true the game was never entirely uninstanced, but one of FFXIV's original philosophies was to keep players playing in the same world. I think that's what an MMO should be about. It should be a virtual world, not just an entrace lobby, nor a substrate to connect players. And whether or not FFXIV has a history of acheiving this concept, it was certainly a base philosophy. Yoshi is straying too far from this original philosophy.

I agree.

It's not the philosophy of FFXIV that was ever at fault though, merely it's implementation. And that's something Yoshi sometimes just doesn't get. He tries so hard to rebuild everything from the ground up when it would have been good enough just to fix what was there, especially as it concerns FFXIV's original philosophy.
