Friendliest / Most Social Server?

Hi, everyone. Four of my friends who I used to play FFXI with back in the day will be joining me in FFXIV. Problem is, they can't make new characters in my current server (Gilgamesh) due to the high population. I decided to transfer to a mid population server with them instead and see how it goes.

Now these guys and gals were highly social and community-oriented back in FFXI. I'd like to choose a server that they'll feel at home in. They don't care much about being at the cutting edge of end-game progression. Rather, they cared more for existing in a virtual world. All very old school, I know. With that in mind, can you recommend to me a server that is friendly, chatty and has a vibrant community?

Edit 1: My character profile will say I am now on Siren. I transferred there last night just to check things out. Activity is a bit too low and the few FCs I've tried were completely silent except for one. It's just an early observation. Hope to hear your suggestions.

Siren simply suffers from being on the Aether data center where everyone and their dead ancestors play on Balmung and Gilgamesh.

I was on Malboro a bit. The people seem friendly there. Can't say if it's heavily populated now though.

I am still new to this game personally as well only having played roughly 7 months, but I can tell you that Faerie is quite the social place! There are all sorts of people here, however there is not as much hardcore end game on this server since most people I knew transferred to Balmung to get into the hard core raid scene.

A lot of people hang around the cities, shenanigans happen, it's always fun and I find most people to be very kind! I'd say if you and your friends have the time, give Faerie a try! It's about medium, and more populated during EST hours, but there are always people online.

Also, being on the Aether datacenter, I find queue times are pretty quick.

Sargatanas is, by and large, a pretty friendly server. It's kind of middle of the road as far as population goes right now - some of our hardcore raiders are either on break from the game or have transferred to higher population servers seeking greener pastures. There's a lot of midcores and tons of more casual players left though. Party Finder is still pretty active with everything from Alexander Savage to pony farming to relic FATEs to hunts except in the wee hours of the morning (EST). I see lots of shout chat in Idyllshire when I'm there, and have stopped to talk with people there and out at hunts and such. It's also on Aether data center, so we share queues with the big guys without some of the downsides that come with being on an overpopulated server. The market's pretty solid too - it's not overly packed to where you get undercut every two seconds and it's relatively easy to find a niche you can profit from.

I'm actually the leader of a smallish (35 members) Free Company there, with a fully furnished Medium house, 4 level 50 airships, and FC buffs on demand. We'd be more than happy to welcome the whole lot of you if you'd like to join a small but social group. ^^

Thanks for the responses! I've been hearing a lot of really good things about the Faerie community. My friends don't mind about being at the forefront of the raiding scene so I'm sure this will work out. I have not read much about Sargatanas as a community but will definitely see what I can dig on google.
