    401/601 Errors on Mog Station

    Why am I still getting 401/601 errors when trying to create a subscription or buy optional items on the Mog Station. I have thralled through numerous forums where other people are having the same issues. Why is SE still using this out of date payment system or not even trying to fix or update using Paypal. All they give me is that its my banks fault when I rang my bank three times now and they said there is nothing wrong with my card or account and its the payment merchant refusing payment. SE needs to sort this problem out ASAP otherwise they will be loosing players and with having to force us to pay for 60 day game time cards, This is 2016 people.... Seriously!!!

    The problem is, the 'error 401/601' problem covers a multitude of sins and has no one main cause behind it, meaning there is no 'quick fix' either sadly.

    One of the most common causes is that the credit card company (not the bank, the vendor of the card, that is, the company whose logo is on the card at top, such as Visa or Mastercard) is flagging the transaction as possibly fraudulent without the bank's knowledge, because MMO games are notorious for being a common destination for credit card fraud (this is also why your bank says there's nothing wrong - it's your card vendor causing the issue behind their backs). Hence you may need to contact your card vendor and see if they're blocking transactions from SE and if so, get them to remove it for you.

    Another possible cause (regarding the 601 error specifically), has nothing to do with your card and is actually your browser causing the issue - that error often is caused if you're using a browser whose security features is blocking a benign security script from running on the Mogstation which verifies your card details as legitimate - for instance, the 'Noscript' addon for Firefox is one such example known to cause problems with the SE Account Management System. If you're running such a program/add on, disable it while on the Mogstation and see if that helps.

    Exact thing happened to me too, my purchase failed due to the "401/601 Error" I called my bank for at least 5 times on 3 days, one call was more than 40 minutes. They said there is nothing wrong with the credit card and all operations were OK. Even after waiting 24 hours still didn't work. I waited a second 24 hours and I got same error!! I waited a week, and still got same error!!!

    I don't know what will I do when my subs expires if SE won't fix the bailing error!
