Being a video game, everything is optional. Dungeons are optional, raiding, golden saucer, crafting, gathering, jobs, it's all optional, but the game has to be set up in such a way so that it has the infrastructure for its important components. Like it or not, glamour is a hugely important component of the game for a lot of players. Part of having the infrastructure for glamour is having the space to keep glamour gear or else a different system to manage glamours.

Teeechnically, even life itself is optional, as you can take the option to die instead. Living is a desire, not a necessity. But that would lead the discussion mildly astray...

Like it or not, glamour is a hugely important component of the game for a lot of players.

Not only that, but a lot of the gear that they release each patch is clearly designed for glamour-purposes. In fact, they have to rely on us wanting fluff rewards like this (including mounts and minions), since the actual useful equipment is so limited because of the way they designed gear progression in this game.

I'm sure it's easier said than done to sort out the inventory issue, though. I vaguely remember Yoshida saying a while ago that they were considering giving us another free retainer. That would be a start.

I'm sure it's gonna take a long while before they even bother do this: I wouldn't be surprised if eventually we'll be forced to buy some retainers for a free one or something.

I wouldn't even complain about the retainers if they were a one time purchase! And no, I am not paying for extra retainers right now. I rather spend that money on something else.

I pay 13 euros for WoW and I get everything. I pay 13 euros for SWTOR and I get everything + extra points.

I pay 13 euros in this game and I even need to pay more for basic inventory space? What's next? Housing plots?

The inventory is being a real problem. Of course I speak for myself. But I don't see why the player would need to buy all retainers just to hold inventory. And people who have everything 60 should know very well as well. Toss a few glamours set on top of that, and it becomes problematic.

You don't have to buy retainers. Only if you collect mats and glamour gear.
The armory chest is still enough for all the gears you use for the stats

You started a thread about inventory and posted your valid opinion. Someone else posted a valid opinion that differs from yours and you resort to this crap of calling them a white knight? Grow up.

Just because something is a problem for you doesn't mean it is a problem for everyone; and no I am not defending the inventory space in this game I would prefer more also. To compare though I only bought ONE extra retainer and I still have space to spare and YES all my jobs/gatherers/crafts(minus BSM) are at 60 feel free to Lodestone. So, yeah it seems to me you might be hoarding a bit more than the usual player since I also collect glamours too and still have space to spare.

To be fair to SE, FF14 has offered as much inventory space as WoW does if you max out all your storage with just the two retainers you get for free. Storage space wise its actually a pretty competitive game.

Seriously, please don't start with the white knight thing. Its really annoying. If you disagree with them then you can argue the point factually. Don't start resorting to label that imply that others opinions are dismissive. Instead actually state factually why you don't feel it is enough.

If you want people to respect your opinion, respect others opinions as well.
