Auto-attack and mobs with Shock Spikes

So I noticed this over the weekend fighting gnats. Occasionally they cast shock spikes on each other, and once they do, I am reduced to nothing but auto-attack.

My auto-attack speed is 2.6 with my sword, the shock effect lasts 3 seconds, so it is effectively on permanently once the mobs buff up. This means I can't use any weapon skills, cast heals, taunt/provoke.. anything.

Solo it is annoying as heck, in a party, well, I can't even taunt a mob. I am wondering if this is something that will be adjusted or if this is how it is supposed to be?

I think the Gnats think the same thing about you when you cast your Shock Spikes on yourself. Too bad they don't have official forums to complain about us. Or maybe they do =x
