I find it interesting that the person in the OP's chat can respond to the OP in the manner that they did, and will face no repercussions. Now, if we slightly modify the situation and the person who responded adds in the word "My parser says", they'll likely to be banned. Apparently harassment and being totally rude are OK as long as you don't have a parser to back up your claim.
It is pretty hilarious how many people not only defend people playing poorly, but seem to think that it's fun, enjoyable or good that people are pathetically horrible.
I'm not sure about you, but I consider that embarrassing.
I may have misread, there have been a lot of posts in rapid succesion. I had the understanding you were saying the TC initiated conversation as a jerk and received a response in kind. In which case, discussion of who was a jerk first is relevant.I'm not really debunking who was the jerk first. Only that that they were both jerks. BLM was rude first. TC was asking stupid rhetorical questions instead of just asking a simple one like why the BLM was not using an ability. It all happened very fast. Why didn't the TC just ask in the first place? Why wait and then ask a bunch of silly questions. My first thought when a White mage doesn't use heal me soon enough, is not "Are you a bot?"
I agree that I would have worded things differently, but we all word and approach conflict in different ways. Some are better than others, but it doesn't make other ways wrong. I don't think the TC was incorrect in any way, and definitely did not deserve to be booted from the duty. The other members of the party exhibited a pretty toxic attitude that I thought banning parses and having an anti-harassment clause in the ToS was supposed to prevent.
It was awhile, so I guess you forgot how this turned around. I claimed that it was embarrassing another person didn't realize they had new skills. You defended them saying not everyone notices the obvious, of which I followed up to say that is embarrassing. I don't think you need to be embarrassed. I think that if I was the other poster, I would be embarassed. It would be a story that I would post under thread title "Funny stories of times you done goofed" or "Things that you're embarrassed about" or whatever.
I wouldn't say accusing someone of being a bot is a reason to be kicked. That's pretty mild imo. But the rest of the conversation is. BLM may have started it, but he kept it going. TC was just unlucky enough to run into a duo party.I may have misread, there have been a lot of posts in rapid succesion. TC was not genuinely asking if the BLM was a bot. He was using it to insult the BLM for being so bad. I can't believe some people actually don't realize this. Look at the time stamps. It's SUPER obvious that TC is frustrated at this point. He's asking a rhetorical question he already knows the answer to. What's even more funny is that the BLM did take his advice after TC got kicked.
Forgive my ignorance. What does TC stand for?TC was not genuinely asking if the BLM was a bot. He was using it to insult the BLM for being so bad. That's on the OP himself to answer. Everyon perceives it differently because there are bots in DF, and people more often than not, do not use party chat to communicate at all. I'd personally do a bot check if I'm genuinely concerned if one of my party member is a bot or not based on their actions.TC was not genuinely asking if the BLM was a bot. There are tell-tale signs of botting. I'm willing to bet it was obvious the BLM was not a bot simply because they didn't use one skill. TC obvious cherry picked a small screenshot out of a whole dungeon. Wonder what the entire dungeon looked like. Either way, TC acted like an ass, and got treated like oneThat's on the OP himself to answer.
