So healers get chastised for not DPSing, but a DPS that's not using the full extent of their abilities gets a free pass. Huh.

Yeah it's the same debate over and over.
wonders if Yoshi-P will take a stand somehow, someday.. when not picking the questions he wants to answer and skip the rest..
For me:
Tanks: Tank first, DPS if aggro is secured.
Healers:Heal first, then DPS when the party is secured.
DPS: Dodge first so healers don't have to cover your behind when it could have been avoided, don't get aggro (check your bar as well as healer and tanks and switch target if close to) then DPS properly (not maxed, but at least trying)
Hope they'll fix the mechanics or DPS demands. Fending accessory feels useless yet this is what drops for Tanks now.
Can't wait 3.2!![]()

I actually agree with this.Yeah it's the same debate over and over.

If taken as a list of where to place your job's job priority, then yeah, I agree 100%. This is how most of the friends I play with play and the runs are always fast and smooth.Tanks: Tank first, DPS if aggro is secured.

Also, I thought the OP was completely justified and polite, and did nothing wrong by raising the question the way they did. The BLM had a bad attitude about it right off the bat, which was unnecessary. All that had to be said if they didn't wish to use Enochain was "Let's just have a leisurely run" or something to that effect. The only reason the OP got kicked was because the tank was a fellow FC member and they were looking not to have any friction in the party. I just didn't comment way back on the first page when I first read the topic.

Yeah, it's like going into a roulette where you find 3 people are playing together. you either have to suck it up and play their way if you want your stuff done, else it's kick.
I find it very stupid to have inserted this option anyway. It has it's uses, but it's easily abused, because Humans..
the way we tend to play me and my BF, we are like, once we click and enter, doing our best to complete the run, unless it's obvious that we can't make it.
At least we say hi before the start
My BF a real chatterbox so if someone starts, well, we just received comments from Jenova (wow, wish we had people like you all the time)
my BF's reply: Come join us on Gilgamesh!
So yeah, some will be good, some bad.. it's a 'roulette' so anything goes!
Have fun guys![]()

Actually, just saing. If a dps is doing high eminity is because his DD is really high and thet are probably doing an exelent job. Is the tank's job to secure that dps dont steal the aggro.Yeah it's the same debate over and over.

I myself found BLM/ DRG that were terrifing, downing the bosses really fast.
But appart from that, I totaly agree with you.

But what if the DPS iLVL overgear the Tank? I don't agree, everyone should check aggro bars with colors, and on your party side with A, 2, 3 etc..
So it's part of the game, a nice tool for everyone, not just for Tanks
DPS will switch targets, Tank will check to ensure to have it all squared red, and then less toll on healers, then you finish your stuff faster.
Everyone's happy!

* I didn't even took into account that sooooo many of them are playing only one job, and.. not even bothering lvl the other 2 in order to get all their cross-class skills (not that long to get them), because hey, Swiftcast is not needed, got to 60 without it!
So yeah.. lots of different people in this game, what can we say!![]()
