Kinda why I always try to be nice, mostly cus I dont want to get booted and waste my time cus majority of the time it seems at least 2 people came together. Id probably at least ask if they would like advice before trying to call em out. Long as they are not wasting your time to the point of causing wipes, its not the worst thing to happen. I know I probably look like a fool as a new 60 blm stuttering around starting spells then noticing timers only to stop and recast, surely cutting my own dps for rotation memory sake.

Lol, I'm all for getting bad players good. And I'm against bad players refusing to learn.

But are we seriously going to act like OP has no blame? Expecting everyone to be an "adult" and take cruel criticism as a positive is not something everyone can do easily.

It's not a free pass and be a jerk off the bat by "is this a bot?". This auto implies laziness, when the player might not even know if it's worth using. Plenty of skills become near useless after you get them. And I can totally see a noob thinking something like touch of death thinking it's not worth it anymore because the benefits of it aren't obvious.

I've very rarely get that level of push back when you do it politely. And I've yet to be kicked out of a dungeon.

While he could have addressed it better, I don't have any more reason to believe that the BLM in the screenshot would have responded any different regardless of how it was worded. And also, your bolded statement goes back to the players straight up not reading their tool tip, especially in the case of enochian where it's a level 54 skill and just by using it is a straight 5% damage boost. A complete disregard to pay attention to what your skills do, especially that late into the game, can't be anything but laziness or willful ignorance.

And I have been kicked out of (although most of the time I was going to bail anyway) for wording it as nice as possible. Like I mentioned previous, it's offensive if you take it as such. Regardless of how you word it (asking them why they're doing what they're doing, or opening up some suggestions to improve), they'll still just as likely to tell you to bugger off one way or another if they honestly do not care to improve.

Maybe it could have been taken care of better but still they didn't react the way they should have. Going from what the WHM said she did start using it. They just didn't take the question of "why are you not using this?" right. Maybe they forgot or didn't know and figured no one would call them out on it. Still you got ganged up on and for no good reason. Would wording it a bit nicer really have made any difference? By their reaction, I don't think so. Maybe you should of started off with a hug, and a cut away with your character behind the Jerry Springer "Final Thought" backdrop..and really hit home to their sensitive souls. After all..if you don't talk to your kids...I mean Black Mage about Enochian..who will?

By now someone leveling from 50-60 should know you get a new skill and ask "what do I do with this? How do I use it?"

I'll admit there are some points where I get a new move and I do not put it in my regular rotation because I forget. If someone tells you about it, suck it up and start using it. Boost a players ego and your own productivity in the game..and that's a scenario where everyone wins!

You don't have super powers so I know you can't read minds of someone from the past. You also apparently disregard the evidence the healer of the group posted shortly after OP that tells you the BLM started using the tool after he was kicked. This tells me she took the advice but wasn't fond of his approach. You are someone who clumps all the bad players into one arch type, just because they responded negatively to not so nice criticism.

I critique people all the time, these negative push back responses are generally caused by negative accusations. Obviously some exceptions.

Also I've met someone who didn't think blood for blood was worth getting. After explaining I convinced them.

The bolded statement is my point, I'm not sure why you're opening up with the hostility towards me; I even mentioned that OP's critism may have been not-so-nice, but it wouldn't have changed the fact that the BLM in question would have most likely made a problem out of it anyway (especially if it's gotten as far as a collective vote dismiss). It's offensive when the players take it as offensive.

Let's assume for one second that you're dealing with someone who hasn't games since they were 5 like a lot of people.

Let's assume they play beat em up games. Let's also say they get % buff moves they can use to more easily down enemies. If the conditions to win are literally only "kill bad guys" they aren't going to care about the speed at which they die as long as the game says "you won" so if they find spamming 2-3 moves instead of the whole arsenal enough for victory they won't feel the need to do more cuz they are meeting the win condition.

They don't think about someone out there beat the same game in half the time by using tools efficiently. The game never let them know " you're doing it wrong"

To get to 60 without ever using say blood for blood. Sometimes YES these people need some explaining and a new mindset. Casual games getting easier and easier and killing self improve mindsets.

A lot of this isn't even the scope of the discussion (or the person you're replying to for that matter) though. We're not talking someone that's entirely new to the game (they're level 60 at that point), it's not out of their way to get the skill (something like Enochian, BotD, even some cooldowns like B4B and HE native to the job and available). If you're a DRG that doesn't ever use B4B or BotD, you're either not using it because you're lazy, or you don't know what it does (which means you didn't read the tool tip, which isn't a problem within the scope of the game but in general). The game puts the skills into your skill bar as you get them, too.

People complain about others not doing good dps, and then they complain that DPS checks are a bad thing in fights.
