To be fair! They do modify the Unreal engine slightly to fit their game better!I think its great that they have someone in charge of providing real quality control. I mean, if no one in the team has played other MMOs Yoshida has and he knows exactly what the level of performance they need to achieve to compete against the widely used engines and servers out there. I still hope that the engine will show some personality though, as I think its easy to notice that most newer MMOs operate under the same engine and that kinda waters down the "new game" vibe for me.

Seriously though, that's the main reason I was looking forward to XIV, an MMO running on a different engine, especially a cinematic engine.
