I agree its unlikely we will see things like Bossmods but who knows, one click healing very likely, DPS meters are just parsers, we already have those.

yeah i think small stuff that adds convenience will be nice, god knows i dont need to click 4 times to craft something maybe a mod to skip the confirmation step in crafting, and easier healing like you mention.

Thats the thing... you can have as little or as much as you want.

I could get 100 addons that give me so much information I have no idea what to do next. Or I could get the 5-10 that I find the most helpful for things that maybe slip my mind (buffs running out for example) and increase the potential I have to be a good player.

I think some people are beginning to think that addons only tell you "Do this NOW!" "Do that now!"... Addons can be 'Collect all your mail with 1 click', 'Send mass mail in 1 click', 'Sort item list', different UI look and feel. They don't even have to provide information.

Umm what? Let's test your theory. Give someone who has never played WoW before a ton of "useful" addons that people consider needed and let them play a raid. They aren't going to have any idea wtf half of the stuff is for or what the point of it is.

Addons help you increase your potential by providing useful information.

I don't mind if other use it but when it come to gear score and DPS it become more you do low dps? get the hell out your score is 200? you need 600 to even join our endgame/party sorry goodbye that the only type of addon i dislike. Even showing DPS i don't mind but people start seeing it as oh you do low dps get the hell out right now there tools you can download to see dps but not everyone use it.

That was just an example, I have no clue what type of addons you would need for FFXI as it's relatively slower pace and not too many skills that you need to do.

But for example... again WoW.... playing a Warlock if I was displayed the exact tenth of a second that a DoT would fall off and knew the exact cast time to reapply that helps keep DPS higher. Losing one second on every rotation can be huge in terms of overall damage. Not to mention you could "spell weave" by having addons that told you server lag, which let you stop casting 75-80% of the way through a cast and still have the spell go off because there is lag. That is useful information that I would have no way of knowing on my own.

Again we have no idea what the addons are going to be... right now I don't think they could tell me anything that I would know, other than "Your ability is off cooldown".

Umm this is already becoming a problem. Why do you think everyone is using Lancer x 4 for Ifrit? Because the parser (dps meter) that someone made shows Lancers do the best damage. Just like in Darkhold when it was 4 archer, 3 mage, 1 tank.

Whatever is the best damage people are going to want. We are seeing it already... check out the Blue Garter LS video for Ifrit, 4 or 5 lancers, tank, mages. "World first Ifrit kill"

Sorry to continue on the path of off-topicness.

But surely you realise why people would say that, in most cases i would say sorry but your gearscore isn't high enough for this content.

Fact is that some bosses in WoW are so finely tuned it requires everyone to be on their toes and doing the best they can, if one person is pulling the DPS down then they have no chance of winning the fight.

It's just like with Ifrit if you don't have the DPS you either run out of time or the healers run out of mana.

Sadly gear is everything in these types of games, FF11 was just as bad if you didn't have specific gear at end game you wouldn't be allowed to go.

Having the correct gear, materia and stat shows that you have made an effort to prepare for a fight imo, someone who doesn't have those thing should be told "sorry mate you can't go with thats gear/dps", maybe that seems harsh to you but not to the other 7 people who have taken the time and effort to gear up properly for the encounter.

I did it with only two lancer mrd,pug and two thm and conj and gla without issue but w/e when addon become main stream like gearscore a big % wont be allow to do anything with others and this could be a issue with casual. anyways we should get back on topic.


Anyways i don't know why we keep talking about addon when we talking about the screenshot not the UI.

@Jinko i agree with you but even in FFXI i did fine with not such good Gear i love when other sam told me sell kirin body and buy hagun and they had pimp out gear and made fun of me with i did 900-1k dmg and they did 2-5k dmg the funny part of that once they do that they die and can't attack for over 5min by that time i done over 10+k dmgs sometimes it's not about the best dmg but living to keep doing that DMG but just for lol sometimes i do 2k and die so i can show them that sometime gear is not everything but i agree with you 100% gear is key to winning not saying no about that one.


Now back on topic the only thing i like to know if this is really 100% ingame or 50% art there noting much we can go by with this just one pic but the other pic about the new maps show players and it seem they look the same as now but little better. Maybe if you have good enough PC you can still get the same level of look like you doing now and seeing how over 80% of players have good pc to even play we should not have any issue.
