    It might be a "real ss" but that doesn't mean that's the quality we get in the future.
    I agree there is no shadow and the lighting is only rendering on the mob and the PLD and war but the dragoon there not much lighting and he still close by and no shadow and if you take off everyone and the mob you just see a picture of a area which look fake too me not even real endgame look like a art. Look at the tree in the back and the mountain it look fake in at the bottom where the action bar is where you see rocks it does not look like the type of rocks we see in ffxiv now they look more fake. the lalafall casting cure look like art also. Even the Monk look really low in detail like art the lalafall look like the art we see in other arts we see sense Yoshida took over so it seem to be all art too me but who knows.

    The only thing i see high in detail would be the PLD,chocobo,mob, and maybe the warrior the glowing sword does not look real at all.

    If that real ingame then that a big downgrade i hope a dev team could tell us more about this.

    I never said that's what I want, I just like/expect people to know how to play their class.

    Addons will just make it clearly transparent if a tank isn't holding hate properly, a particular healer is over healing or a DPS is over DPSing.

    so without something on screen telling you exactly what everyones numbers you wouldn't have a clue?

    well I'm not dumb so I do know when a tank is not holding hate right, or if its the DPS fault and not the tank

    I want a game that requires skill, not spoonfeeds you every piece of information you could ever use

    uhm im sorry but you have to be blind if you think it looks exactly the same, its going from clean cut sharp images to painted images. I like both but to say they are the same but darker is just wrong.

    Define 'skill'?

    Without parsers, without actual worthwhile data about the system to work with, there's no way to determine mechanical effectiveness other than eyeballing a bunch of damage numbers flying around.

    I've never played WoW, so I don't have firsthand experience with the UI addons (other than an aesthetic judgement of "they look ugly but incredibly useful, I wish I'd had stuff like this on Red Mage in FFXI"), but I'd much rather have the freedom to mod the UI than not, and it's a symbol of forward-thinking game design in general.

    And, yeah, I'm pretty sure this is the mouse/keyboard interface; how many times do they have to say "there'll be two seperate UIs, one for mouse/kb and one for controller" before it gets through?

    What happened to the good ol' days when people played games for fun and not who's numbers were bigger than other people's numbers?

    If I hold hate, the mages cure/nuke, the DD damage and the support do their job...I DON'T CARE about who's putting out more damage or who's cures are stronger.

    If you're really going to throw a fit because "We could have killed that 6 seconds faster!" then you need to re-evaluate why you play MMORPGs.

    God I hate that old spoonfed bullshit argument, since when was more information being spoonfed, I doubt you tackle real life with those same stupid ideals.

    End of the day addons are coming get used to it !

    Of course nobody is forcing you to use these addons, stay in the dark, stay ignorant, I doubt anyone will care enough besides to say "you don't have a DPS meter ? "goodbye" "

    Finally we will get parser addons that will tell us exactly what stats are doing so we know which ones to bother with and which ones not to, because quite frankly numbers in the 400's means nothing to me.

    they said addons, they didnt specify how much they could do, and it is spoonfed, and this isn't real life, I don't go home to play video games to mimic real life

    seeing an exact hate list is spoonfeeding information, seeing which mobs aggro and which dont is spoonfeeding information, seeing the exact hate effectiveness of an attack is spoonfeeding

    it is figuring out how much is too much that the developers need to account for

    there is skill in figuring out the effectiveness of strategies and smart use of abilities, hate list and the like take these away from the game
