    They say they don't even have a graphics engine and yet claim this is in-game render...

    I don't even understand how that's supposed to be consistent.

    What makes you think that? I am pretty sure their graphics engine is done. If they had an engine they were in the process of and didn't know if it would work or not, they wouldn't have announced it.

    Even though English is my second language, I'm pretty sure "going to have a new graphics engine" generally means that it's what is featured for the new client, not that it doesn't exist yet.

    I think "done" was the incorrect word to use. More like, a viable graphics engine is being set in place. If I was a developer, I wouldn't tell my customers we are using a new graphics engine if I was not currently in development with it.

    One of the pdf's is pretty clear about it. The engine is about 2/3rds complete and is estimated to be ready by December.

    The assets, though, are not being developed yet (aside from concept mock-ups). I don't think the difference will be that huge in that regard though.

    Yep, they also don't take long to have a usable build. The only reason you don't see other developers making new engines is because Unreal for example is already made and does everything you can want, but they don't at all take TOO terribly long to make, especially when it was stated they've been at it since at least April of 2010.

    From the Bluegartr interview regarding the UI Dev Kit:
    Ragns (BG): When should we be expecting to see this? (The addon dev kit)
    SE:We could start now, but we're using SQWT and the situation is that it's such a mess that it's something that players would not be able to work well with. We want to streamline things to make it easy for players so we can get the best addons from the players.

    This response sounds like it implies that everything is functional but not optimized or ready for the general public. I don't remember reading anywhere that they don't have a graphics engine.

    Haven't visited this thread in a while, (mainly due to having to read Zenaku every 2nd post) but if bottom right is a packet monitor then ill eat my iPhone.

    Ive got a feeling that it is a Mannequin switching system.

    Um what? The colored squares is a Mannequin switching system, huh?

    So they are redesigning the UI then adding squares to switch gear... oh and like 100 squares at at that. Seems a bit illogical.

    While I'm not defending or striking down the notion just yet, there are 7 grids, each one with an assortments of dots that number exactly 25 (except for the one on the lower left). Each one of these grids could be an equip set for one job.
