Btw it's not always about DPS but i guess that switching over too more about DPS then just playing i played ffxi for years and everything was done fine without real big DPS but i guess it was without me knowing o.o.
The problem is people are looking at DPS meters in WoW from a FFXI/V standpoint. The combat is nothing alike. FFXI bosses (before ToAU) lasted upwards of 2 hours if you weren't running with an extra party of people on the outside to switch in for mana, chiblasts, bloodpacts, etc. Boss fights in WoW last 5-10 minutes usually. You do not even have minutes to recover from a mistake, you have seconds or it's a wipe. If a healer goes down, you need a way to instantly see that on a healing addon so you can begin to cast a battle rez before all of the other healers start running out of mana. If a WHM died fighting an HNM in XI, it was fine. You swapped them out while they got raised and weakness wore and had a back-up healer fill in. That is not the case in WoW. If most DPS are doing 22k DPS and you're lagging behind at 18k, you either don't know your rotations, don't know your gear priority, or you're just goofing off. You just cannot afford to do this in current tier content.

Current tier raids are designed to be executed with the utmost precision. If you don't find that fun and think it's too much work, then you can go raid earlier tiers of the expansion that you already outgear.

I don't understand it. Usually people from XI and XIV are harping on WoW about it taking no skill at endgame, yet those are the same people complaining about add-ons that weed out the leechers. Too many things are going on in WoW to sit there and watch people cure or nuke to see who is playing correctly. Things happen too fast for you to be able to eyeball this. If anything, WoW's endgame is far more demanding than XI's ever was, which is why I have no clue why people from XI spout that XI was harder. Getting the claim was 90% of the difficulty in XI. Not being an idiot and running behind a dragon to Spike Flail the entire room was the other 10%.
