Medica 2 is super strong so why not. Just don't do it pre-pull or if you lack mana.

@Raminax and Selene Fatalis,
Oh don't get me wrong, I don't Medica II trash pulls (except the 3 pack pull after Fractal 1st boss, Furore (sp?) for days), I usually Medica II for bosses.
Most lv 60 dungeon bosses have some sort of mild AoE, so instead of using Medica I to top everybody up, its my personal opinion that spending an additional...150~200 MP(?) to use Medica II instead for that sweet sweet 50 Potency 30 seconds regen on the MT is worth it.
P/S: Just covering my bases, enmity is 99% not an issue, as I think most bosses only perform their mild AoE more than 10 seconds after the pull, which is sufficient time for the tank to establish a decent enmity lead.
That's fine. Thanks for the clarificication!
I never Medica every single AoE myself. I tend to let the boss cast 3-4 AoEs before I even consider Medica II, personally. Sometimes I get away with just Asylum if I somehow get all four players in melee range!
But yerr, having done these dungeons a million times for Anime weapons, it's not often I cast more than a single Medica II for an average dungeon boss fight. Usually pretty safe to just let the party drop down to about half HP and then let the HoTs do their magic, instead of casting Medica 3-4 times to counter every single AoE hit as it happens.
If you want to get better skills, just try healing in savage. It's the best place if you want to improve your skill. You can also try solo heal some 8p content or even solo 2.0 content.
You reach a "plateau" in skill because you reach a "plateau" in difficulty. Every tips we can give you are only situationnal.
Agreed. Most of this is going to be dependent on the situation, so you will have to practice many different things. One thing is definitely doing more dps when possible, and this will require practice with gambling people's hp. People are going to die when you practice new things as a healer unfortunately, and sometimes that can make people upset. However, it's a lot of adapting to each and seeing what can be done in what windows. Sacrifices must be made at times.![]()
Medica II is only good if your party is below 60% HP, Medica II can take precedence over Medica I in certain cases just because of the increased range it has. As far as Regen + Medica II before a pull, that should never happen IMO. Your tank should have a Stoneskin up making them useless for the first couple hits.
Single target boss opener: Aero III(while tank runs in) --> Aero II --> Aero I --> Assize(while running to boss) --> Fluid Aura --> Presence of Mind --> Stone III Spam --> Refresh Aero III and Aero II as needed. Aero I only when you have to move or weaving in Fluid Aura or Assize. Another time to use Aero I is right before switching out of Cleric Stance. I won't cast Regen on the tank until quite a bit into the fight. Once the tank hits 40% or 50% I'll just Tetra them back to full HP and do an Asylum or Regen after that, saving you MP and a global. You normally will have Tetra up again later when you need it anyways.
AoE Pull Opener: Follow tank in and precast a Aero III so it hits all the mobs --> Swiftcast --> Holy --> Assize during GCD --> Divine Seal + Regen + Tetra or Asylum --> Presence of Mind --> Holy Spam until tank needs a Bene or heal.
I always Stoneskin just the tank as the last mob dies, I usually don't have Swiftcast up for Stoneskin II because of the above rotation. Once a pull or boss dies, depending on the distance you can pop Sprint and get far ahead of the group and start casting a Stoneskin II right before the pull so it hits everyone as they catch up.
