How many was the most times you ever grinded an instance for a single specific item?

This happened when I got my Ramuh bow. I was helping some others so we went in again, and ...boom another bow.
I actually said out loud "Fuck you, Ramuh".
I was so mad.

it feels like it was at least 200 runs of sohm al when i was grinding for my gaelikitten
but it was probably closer to the 50's

I've also run the Great Gubal Library for the caster coat and I lost count how many times I ran that. I would switch between SMN/BLM and just run it a few times every other day. I felt so bad for any under lvl 60 tank I was paired with since it was before the ilvl sync so I'd be ilvl 200 with the poor leveling tank. Everything died really fast though. When I finally got it I just told myself: NEVER AGAIN.

Of course then the Plague Bringer caster coat came out so it's not even glamoured at the moment.

Edit: Oh! And also the Bard/Machinist top from the Aery. I was running that on Bard well into lvl 59 before I just gave up. Maybe when my Machinist gets up to that level, I'll spam it some more. I have the MNK/NIN top but have never once seen the BRD/MCH top.

I no longer regret keeping a copy of the bard/machinist top from there.

This Vial of Kraken Blood would not drop until after 4 weeks of trying, with me running Hullbreaker Isle a minimum of 5 times a day. I remember one day, I started at about 9am. But 7pm (taking small breaks in between), I gave up until the next day.

This was before the nerf to the Zodiac quests.

When I was initially going through storyline, I REALLY wanted the full Battlemage set for my BLM, so I ran that an ungodly amount of times. If I was actively doing story missions I was running that dungeon. I gained at least 10 levels from running that dungeon by itself.

It got to the point where my wife, my brother-in-law, and I could almost run the dungeon without looking at the screen just based on how many steps we heard our characters take and the sound of the mobs we knew what to do.

I ran copperbell mines 25 times to get the relic item to drop. This was when the quest first came out. Now it's a 100% drop go figure lol

I did sohm al 57 times for the skyraider chest, and it never dropped. I gave up

"I lost count after 40" runs for the Demon Chest of Fending from World of Darkness back in ARR. I had the worst luck with farming gear for glamour from the Tower's. Though I did have amazing luck in Coil, so that might be the reason why.
