I'd like to see many skills and abilities actually start to serve a real purpose and impact content.
I can count on one hand the number of occasions I've actually "needed" blunt arrow to silence something instead of just spamming it as a dps increase
I can count on one hand the number of occasions I've actually "needed" to Stun something instead of just spam it as a dps increase
I can count on one hand the number of occasions I've actually "needed" to pacify something instead of spam it as a dps increase.
I can probably also count on one hand the number of times I've "needed" to use sentinel, bulwark, rampart or any other cool downs in order to survive a particular mechanic...
I can't even remember the last time something needed to be slept, bound or heavied and kited, crowd control doesn't exist.
everything is just a dps check, kinda boring....

This has always been a pet peeve of mine. I actually wish they'd go the WoW route and remove damage from stuns and silences entirely. I know it doesn't hurt anything to use them for DPS (except on the rare fights where they're mechanically necessary), but I would be more satisfied with them if they were cooldowns you used intelligently instead of on-cooldown DPS-increases.

Original Binding coil had specific attacks which had to be silenced by the bard. T1 and T2. SCoB had some kiting for Bards or SMN's on T7. SE changed their outlook and saw that certain classes were "required" in the instance due to their abilities and certain classes (dragoon) were not being invited for the fun because they didn't provide enough versatility.
This kind of thing scares the pants of the developers so they try to make it so any party composition can complete any content. This is part of why we dont see mechanics requiring class specific skills anymore.

Dragoon got an entire expansion centered around a story that made everyone wanna be one, and Bard is now the red-headed stepchild.
I also miss the need for crowd control, stun/silence and kiting. Honestly, other classes can kite (we downed Melusine with a Dragoon kiting). Yes, it was easiest on Bard and Summoner, but not impossible on other classes. Everyone has a skillset they can work with, and I don't think it's a fair excuse to dumb down interesting fight mechanics.

Don't care. I went from 2-3 hours a day down to 2-3 hours a week with the new 2 dungeons a week to much of the same, patches to long between. Losing interest.
I would like to say I'm hopeful in believing they'll spend all of 30 minutes designing a RMT chat filter script. So that we don't end up with people disabling PM's just to get rid of the spam. But hey wishful thinking.
I hope in 3.2 the next part of the relic quest is so long that people actually quit. Instead of just saying they are going to quit, and not quitting.

I'm not hopeful.
They've been regressing.

Better pvp with better rewards.
