    What are you hopeful for in 3.2?

    As the title says. The thinks that you hope we could get realistically, be it obvious or as a surprise.

    1. New Grand Company Items/Ranks/Content

    Basic request, no hint that it will happen but I can hope right?

    2. The New Tome gear being based off of Role rather then Job.

    I have only so many slots and generally glam everything to look like one set of items.

    3. A change to tank's damage and arggo mechanics.

    The way I would do it is during an attack the STR is used to calculate damage and VIT to calculate arggo. That way if you need to dps/OT you can use STR, and if you are strait tanking you can use VIT.

    4. Well thought through re-balancing of the Paladin.

    Using my idea above further I think what PLD could use is an overhaul of Sword Oath. Compared to the DPS stances of the other tanks it is a complete joke and only adds to the uselessness of the class. Maybe split the difference between the other stances and just give us a base 10% boost to damage and 10% reduction to mitigation. Better then the useless extra 50 auto-attack damage.

    I would also be down for a "Cleric Stance" like "Guardian Stance" that swaps STR and VIT. And to be kind to the other tanks, make it a cross-class skill a la CS so the other tanks can use it too.

    I'm sort of the opposite....need all my jobs to have different styles; sometimes even sharing one piece of prominent gear makes me upset.
    But I think you're right; this was AF2 so it was supposed to be per job but I bet the next tome gear will be per type.

    Give us the option to glamour differnet sets on different jobs!
    It's so boring that my healers look all the same though Ast, Whm and Sch have whole diffenrent aesthetics

    Thats what SE does... even back in 2.0 the first tomes were the AF job gear... then every patch after that is healers share, tank share, casting share, and now bard and mch share... however MNK, DRG, and NIN all have their own... it will be like that til 4.0

    A high challenge, high reward alternative for gathering relic weapon items, since doing 6+ month old chores again for a weapon that is better than SCH a4s weapon after I've already downed a4s 2 months ago (kick in the teeth much?), but will be outdated in a month isn't making me want to log in to do any of it.

    Materia slots in raid gear is nice. I'm sick of wearing my ilvl150 melded jewelry for accuracy in savage (or even in experts). Somehow, I think they'll throw a wrench into my hopes again if diadem healer gear never having accuracy, and fixed relic weapon stats was any indication. Would be nice to not miss when I actually feel like doing damage, you know...

    This game needs an overhaul of its gear progression system, period - for reasons you illustrate. Across 10+ years and too many MMOs to list, I've never - personally - played one that obsolesces its gear as rapidly as FFXIV. "Just finally finished up your current gear set after weeks of grinding on the same content? Well, don't get too attached to it, because a new set is being introduced in the next update. So, you'll get to do it all over again".

    Frankly, this game needs a huge injection of creativity and new ideas. The retreading of 2+ year old ideas and systems, with little to no variation, except for what the new tomestone will be called, is really ridiculous at this point.

    So, what would I like to see in 3.2 and forward? More imagination and new ideas coming from Yoshi-P and his team, with better thought-out implementations (aka, not another Diadem or LoV scenario).

    I'd said it in another thread, but looking at FFXI as an example, with 1 expansion (Aht Urghan) that game got 5 completely new and completely unique, and very fleshed-out systems, with their own rules, settings, rewards, etc. They didn't keep retreading the same systems they'd been using from previous expansion(s). They designed and implemented new ideas and content, giving players more variety and more options. In a MMORPG, more variety and options = A Good Thing.

    With the variety and depth of content SE was able to implement in XI, under *far* greater restrictions ("PS2 Limitations" anyone?), I can not believe what we're getting from them in FFXIV is the best they can deliver. No way.


    Even just some announcements of new ideas coming from them in future updates would be nice to start with.

    I wish for new unique dungeon progresion style, as of now current 3 bosses and stright line to finish is so boring, that frankly i completely dont care how graphicaly the new dungeons will be dressed or whateva ground aoe dodge circle bosses will have. Bosses need indungeon mechanics to defeet them like one in snowcloack with snowballs. any dungeon above lvl50 is borefest in terms of structural design.

    I'm hopeful for:
    • crafted gear to be meaningful again (they've told us the gear will be better but their definition of better is sometimes only marginally so);
    • for a number of jobs to receive improvements (primarily PLD, BRD, MCH, and AST);
    • for NINs to receive a moderate buff to their AoE damage capabilities, making them closer to DRG in strength (as the utility of Trick Attack is far less valuable in 4-man dungeons);
    • for the new Primal battle to be meaningful in the longterm, not just as a "weapon catch up" mechanism;
    • and for Lost City HM to be as awesomely atmospheric as the original version was.
