Emperor's new shield

Do you actually have to have a shield equipped to use shield lob? I'll have to pay more attention, I never thought it was my shield being tossed anyways, it always looked like the same shield animation 15 to 60.

Besides, we can run around without a shield. The game doesn't require you to equip one. (I've done this on accident) So what's the big deal with an invisible shield?

I would love to use a reinforced glove instead of the shield. Paladin would look more action based that way.

Please add this. I know we have dark knight with no shield, but I think it would be a nice touch for Paladins as well. Just a thought! I would be really happy if it happened though!

You cannot use shield lob without a shield equipped, that is correct.

Not to mention even when you don't have a shield equipped, the animations still account for it, so your character is all hunched over and your arm hovers in front of you and it just looks weird and bad...

I never really treated 'Shield Lob' as though my character was seriously tossing a shield. Maybe a shield-shaped block of aether or something, but not my actual shield.

Regardless, I'm sorry but I really hate this idea because of how absurd it seems. The only way I could come to like it is if you could equip special gauntlets on to the shield slot that are heavily armoured and have a small shield melded on to them, a bit like the example below:



(Albeit then I'd be jealous because my Warrior really wanted a pair of gauntlets where one was much more heavily armoured than the other, a bit like Raubahn only with no skin showing on either arm).


Aside from that, I really dislike this mentality where people choose to justify ANY concept by referencing existing examples that can be considered absurd. I may or may not be the biggest fan of some of those features either, but where does it end? I mean were people actually serious about creation the option to have invisible weapons for non-Monks? Really? I don't have a monk and have zero interest in levelling one but their request made perfect sense... anything else would be a real eye-roller for me, sorry.

Despite how envious my Warrior would be, I'll support the idea of shield-gauntlets... but not invisible shields.
