No what im saying is they will most likely have a new weapon, per the history a Saber or Rapier but like the DRK GS most will use other blade skins. If you look most pre-50 drk weapons are GS in name but 1HS in skin/design.

Actually how it can work is since the Paladin uses magic, he can make his shield disappear, only to reappear when he needs it and disappear again when not in use. For example, he's fighting and when he needs to block, the shield appears, blocks then disappear, he can continue to hack & slash. When he needs to Sheild Lob, it'll appear on his hand and toss it to the mob, then disappear like the Hadouken or Tiger Shot from Street Fighter. Also, when he needs to stun, then shield appears, he bitch-slaps the mob across the face demanding satisfaction, then the shield disappears. To me that would work.

A flying turtle's actually quite reasonable, as unreasonable as this sentence sounds. It's probably a reference to Gamera or that monster from Ultraman.

But if this gets implemented, I'll be looking forward to:

Yeah I hate shields too. This is the best post of the year. And on many games paladins use only one sword or a hammer. Sound's better than the boring shields.

Which has absolutely no relation to FF and the developers have straight up admitted that it was done as per fan request rather than a homage. Especially when we have to believe in the improbability that the tortoise we get in the gold saucer just happens to be able to fly (and no other ones in Hydaylian can).

Meanwhile the game's full of puns and references not limited to final fantasy. And who knows whether the tortoises on hydaelyn can fly or not. The world as we know it right now is limited to the Eorzean continent. Even the fat chocobo can somehow fly through the power of cake.
