I know it's not the MMORPG you are describing but this fits Black Desert Online to a T, too.Drawing a blank on the name of it. But I recall playing another MMORPG something like 10 or so years ago that basically had all your characters made on the same sever be something akin to family or roommates. The account itself tracked quest progress and completion, they all lived in the same house, shared the same stash/storage chest, etc..
It wasn't really graphically intensive. Cute anime-ish visuals with an angled top down view similar to Secret of Mana that was rotatable. Basically kind of typical of alot of F2P MMORPGs that came from various countries in Asia at the time.
