Make FFXIV More Alt-Friendly... Please??????

I know this is an old thread but the issue is still relevant.

This game being alt unfriendly is one of my major problems with it, as someone who loves making alts in MMORPGs. Sometimes I want to look at a different character but not enough to change my main.

I can accept story skips needing to be purchased, honestly. I just wish that collections were account wide like minions, mounts, emotes, hairstyles and triple triad. Also all seasonal outfits and all Mogstation mounts, minions, emotes, and glamours should be account wide.

It's a bummer to play an alt because you don't feel like unlocking anything when you know there is no account progression in FFXIV.

Y'know what I'd like? Being able to choose which character to activate after downgrading from a Standard to an Entry sub.

I would love for my alts to share my personal home of my main if they are on the same world (all of mine are). Treat the home like a FC for your alts where they can have their own rooms and have a chest that acts like a FC chest so that you can share your gil and such with your alts. Give us the ability to choose who's name we display on the home's placard, that way, it's more immersive for RP and such.

Being behind on 8-12 hours of cutscenes on your main if you take a small break is starting to become overwhelming.

I had a savage alt on Aether for all of Shadowbringers but I abandoned it in Endwalker because I hated the MSQ so much. Granted I watched every cutscene, but even skipping cutscenes it would still be the most monotonous, time wastey, pointless run around sequence of gameplay in the entire game including the original 2.x patches. The MSQ sucked so bad I quit raiding on Aether.

If I'm supposed to sink 40 hours into a game it better not have any filler, not be 90% filler.

I want an account wide retainer that will allow to hold tradable stuff

Never gonna happen, sadly they get a lot of fantasia, story skip and level skip sales from this. Im even surprised that mounts are account wide.

I agree. It should be at least possible to share the own house with alts on the same server. The more altfriendliness the better!

doing some super tedious things on a new character to enjoy the exp boost to 80 on the new data center, like actually playing triple triad, and...
besides the super obvious "i miss all my glamours i've earned/bought, also my pets and mounts, and titles", i'm also finding............trying to collect all the triple triad cards is frustrating and idk why i hate myself so much as to do this on a new char instead of my main (i know why it's bc different friends different servers but hngfnhnhgn)

also like to point out if things were accountwide i'd be soooooooooo much more inclined to spend money on mog station
i'd buy all the little seasonal stuffs i missed even on my main, and i'd buy the new stuffs too to enjoy on my characters
but as it stands - $24 glamour for one character? is y'all crazy i am paying a sub too fck if i'm going to spend that money on one character when i'm not playing only that one character 5ever

i am begging . accountwide collections. i will spend more money if my "alts" (or new mains without abandoning friends from the old one idek) can enjoy this sht too.

I honestly do not understand why its not already a thing other than to get you to spend more money. Mounts are shared, why not glam or the dresser in general, titles from achievements.... Guess they not making enough money from the upfront charges on the retainers.

Everyone I know that makes a alt buys the summoner lvl boost anyway for the story skip and the two lvl 80 exp bonus

I just stared an alt to replay the story with, its fun but I do wish we could send Gil/spare items over via mail or somthing like that. Feels weirdly restrictive.
