Make FFXIV More Alt-Friendly... Please??????

Square Enix doesn't think of them as alts, but as separate characters. The distinction being that they have no ties to the "main" account. Each character is completely separate.

That said you can mail items/friend other characters, but since the character has to be online to friend it might literally be as simple as the friend system having too be completely overhauled (to allow offline people) and because of that they haven't done it. Possibly concern because of spam or build up of how to handle backlog etc. A lot less hassle for SE to change nothing.

But in regards to the main topic, no please don't change the characters so the MSQ is skipped/changed on subsequent characters on the same account. If you've maxed your main character then sometimes it is nice to be able to start over/level up again and although I'm still getting the last few jobs to 60, I can totally see me going back to one of my other characters and levelling that some more in the future once I'm done with this one (I did when I had everything at 50).

If they did add this feature I am sure it would be an optional opt out of the MSQ (if you read OP's post they asked for optional not forced) and by no means do you HAVE to skip it on new alts if you don't want to.

As for topic sure, as long as it is optional there isn't really any issue with it. I probably would still do the MSQ on my alts for the EXP but if people didn't want to since they already did it on a main character I don't see the problem.
