Make FFXIV More Alt-Friendly... Please??????

I don't see any advantage to alts other than different appearances from races, so why not tie race to job selection, so it changes (if desired) when you change jobs.
I wouldn't mind trying to duplicate Sadu from Azim Steppe, but not if I had to start over from nothing.

the advantages are extremely few; most notably you can duplicate your tomestone earnings for crafting materials to sell over at MB as well as get current BiS with various roles if you even care about the min-maxing in the short amount of time where its actually relevant.

Otherwise its just purely for RP purposes and helps with not falling into the fantasia addict trap if you have multiple alts that fulfill those needs.

the people who work on your cool new content
are probably not the same people who could be overhauling the severely outdated coding that would allow the game being alt-friendly
so
it's really not a big deal for you if you're cool with one char

you're literally missing out on nothing you've spent your time doing
whereas just bc we want to be a potato sometimes or visit a friend on their own server without having certain functions restricted or maybe bc we want to hide from people and be asocial but still play - we suffer from losing everything we worked for or spent money on.
which wouldn't be half as bad if a huge chunk of collectibles weren't locked to a single-time run of seasonal events buuut that's not the case

there's also the big issue where if someone is being stalked then changing servers, names, and appearance does not stop a determined person from continuing to stalk a player via their lodestone page. so making a new character but still having access to your collectibles, would be very, very nice for those very, very unfortunate people who have the misfortune of being stalked.

because we can level to 90 again but we can't get our seasonal event glams, titles, emotes, mounts, and minions back without waiting an entire year and spending dozens of dollars on things we already own and have access to, just on a different character. it's super not cool!!!

if people get their alt-friendliness.

you can stick to your one character perfectly fine and not notice a single difference

and it's not like they have to spend huge amounts of manpower and resources creating new assets, materials, textures, models, rigging them, animating them, etc, etc - to give us this access. it's all in the game already. we just need the coding to be reworked.

the game is outdated
i wouldn't mind a realm re-reborn 3.0 just to nuke the engine we're on to put our game on a newer one that isn't held back so severely
it would benefit us all in the long run, not just people who want their collectibles to be accountwide

Excellent points all around, I agree with everything said. As a Balmung main, I literally can't have my characters on my main server. It's infuriating, meaning my alts are literally like.... A waste of time, and there's ZERO QoL. Everquest, which just released like expansion 32, has better QoL features. That's pathetic.

Also, I don't want to go through extra hoops to be able to experience a "new game". If you want to skip something, you should be the one running to a place and clicking the "Skip Things" button. Don't ruin it for others. It's already working well and fluidly for people who like the story and your suggestion would break that immersion.
