Make FFXIV More Alt-Friendly... Please??????

I don't mind going through the MSQ multiple times, but I also would like the game more friendly to alts. Mainly, the ability to mail items to my alts on the same account and same server. Or even some kind of shared account storage in the Inn room. I know of two other games that have account-shared storage (same server only), so would be nice to have something like that here. I DO get that this game wasn't made for alts, but there are just some players like myself that like to have alts for whatever reason. For me, it's all about having different characters that look different and are different races and/or genders. And I'm sorry, but I won't spend tons of money on Fantasia bottles.

I've been playing since 1.0. My main has been all 90s since 3 months into EW and I've work on other content as the mood suits. My other 1.0 character is almost all 80s and then I'll take her through EW and get everything to 90s again. I've played through EW on another character just because (I know I can do new game plus, but I like ACTUALLY leveling. I also like going through with a new character who I imagine has a different personality than my main and answering questions differently. It is a RPG after all) and as soon as I get all 90s on the character I'm working on, I'll start a new one to do that same. Yes, the game wasn't intended for ALTS, but we have them for different reasons. I've been playing consistently for a long time (I like replaying the story and leveling jobs) and, generally, I think it is time the XIV team realizes that the longer the game goes, the more likely this is to keep occurring. People are going to keep maxing out characters (or whatever other reason they have) and wanting to start over, but be able to share resources between them.

SWTOR actually has done this pretty well and I would love to see it here.
1) Shared housing: Main chooses who on the account can have access to housing and that character can log in and do everything that the character that purchased the house did.
2) Shared storage: I end up using the FC chest or one of my kids' characters on another account to act as a go between for crafting items and other stuff (minions, orchestrions, etc) It would be really nice if I could just put everything into a shared storage and be able to move items between characters

Luckily when I made my main alt back in the day there was a way to add yourself as a friend. It can no longer be done, but it's really useful for exactly this.

The game wasnt designed to have many "Characters" but rather 1 toon who can switch to different jobs. There are other games out there that is not gated behind the story progression, perhaps try one of those. I personally do not want them to change how the MSQ works.

And that's kinda horsepoo, cause um.... Now certain people have an innate advantage because of janky old code. That's messed up. I mean, I'm glad for you, but all the same.... Wouldn't it be nice if we all had the same novelty?

Absolutely, I have about 7 other alts that I'd love to do the same with, but they were created well after the patch which is unfortunate. It should be standard issue.

Some people don't enjoy doing the quests. If I had a choice of leveling faster with the quests vs a bit slower running dungeons I would choose the dungeon route everytime. I love doing the dungeons on different jobs and do not care for the quests. I do the least amount of quests possible to level. Most the side quests I have not touched, I have areas littered with quests still.

They want to force people to buy extra retainers. You'll never see any of that because they want that extra micro-transaction moolah.

Your request is backwards, if they did it it should not auto-complete where you have to flag the quests if you want to redo them. If they did add this feature it should be made where you have to flag it as complete not the other way around. Anyways I though this thread would be more about ways the game could make it more alt friendly then just "get rid of the MSQ" As for the people that don't like the MSQ or quests why you playing this game it might be a MMO but it is a Final Fantasy MMO pretty sure there other MMOs out that that would fit your style better.

Alts are a lot of work but they are a very big part of the game for me. My 3 are fully leveled both story wise and job wise and they can't share anything. It's pretty sad really and just makes it so much harder to do. They all belong to the same FC which at least allows me to use the FC chest without bothering my friends. I wish at the very least I could friend my alts and send them things as well as let them share my house. I don't quite get it really and the idea that RMT is the reason is a joke cause we all know how well SE is doing when it comes to RMT.

Auto-add characters on the same account and server to each other's friendslist.

This would solve 90% of the problem. If I could mail stuff to my one alt and share my house with her, I'd be perfectly content. Can it really be that hard?

Go check out Lost Ark to see how they have a handle on RMT, you are living in Paradise compared to there lol
