    new Ideas for this game, hopefully some possitive ones , input welcome

    Introduction

    I am wondering what is possible for the developers to do, to increase our enjoyment of this game. or is this game meant for only new players? maybe XI has a small loyal group of players that stuck with it for many years but others games such as WOW had a bigger fan base so this game borrowed a lot of WOW-style ideas like instance focused content.

    This game's biggest issue for me is those empty zones. when i first started playing the game, it was crazy so many people and for the next few months also zones and towns were filled with people and everyone doing fates. the activity in the zones gradualy went down, but had a few short lived resurgance with relic atma fate grinds. . some zones remained a little more popular like coretheas etc for fates. but the rest kind of died out. the atma quest made a resurgance again for fates but again after the initial few mohths they died out again.

    Right now i see these old dead zones i wonder, all this investment in making these nice zones but they are not inhabited by anyone. except for maybe a few new players who might run thru for their story . these zones feel like ghost towns, it makes me sad to just see them like that.

    When i entered stonevigil the first time, i was amazed at the dungen design of it, and how u can see the view from top of the tower, it gave me a few ideas of the possibilites of what the devlopers can do, sadly it's just an instance but the imagination can go wild with all the possibilities.

    my idea
    now this is my idea I think it would be nice if, there would be some kind of tower we can enter maybe in some of the zones, and u have to fight through trash mobs, possibly a boss at the end of each floor, an S rank who blocks that floor and can only be defeated by party of let's say 20 or more. if the s rank dies a door will open for 1m then it closes again to next floor. the trash has to be hard and not safe to move around, without proper healers, tanks and teamwork. if u reach the last floor there is a really super boss , like with the strength of odin lvl 60 that can only go down with a few alliances let say 60 people minimum. the boss has no drops but gives u a lotery ticket and a token. lotery tocket has a rare chance to give u a very rare item. ur token is a weekly token and if u get enuf u may purchase some rewards. i think initially that boss shud be so hard , that it may not even go down every week, without proper groups and enough people comitting to do this. fails = gives pepople a reason to go back again and try to climbe up and try this boss again with bigger numbers and better preparation.

    Now the above is just an idea and its kind of in the open world but at the same time its locked to those who can defeat the s ranks and progress thru those tough mobs. i beleave this game needs some open world content because we got nothing atm. if u like that idea or if u got different idea that is better u can reply here. maybe those s ranks can also net us some sort of mini reward etc. when the s ranks die, they respawn in 15m or so. maybe a total number of floors would be 7 so, getting the whole way up would take 2 hours max? if the group is strong.

    offcourse u may think what is the point of this if we just gona do it once, well if it drops a 100% weekly token then people shud come back every week to collect it. and i guess some might get some super rare items if they are lucky. or even extremely rare items. also helping others might give u another chance for the rare stuff , even if u got ur weekly token.

    i think that tower will give us something cool todo, rather than our weekly 24 man dungen ( i dont call it a raid sorry ), or our usuall raid schedual. it gives an FC or a few FCs that wana work toghether somethign to do as well.

    let me know what u guys think or if u got better, different ideas !

    I am all for more open world content! The only thing I would say is have the trash actually have a chance to drop useful crafting materials or something useful!

    ye in some games the trash actuallly droped some rare items, so it was worth to farm as well . but it was extremly rare.

    I am sorry for the bump, it has been 2 weeks. i am a little surprised that nobody has ideas or any input on the state of the game or such. do u guys care about the game and it's future. what do u think of my idea, is it a bad idea or hard to implement, do u have better ideas to utilize the open world zones, or do u think that all serius content belong in instances only and have only silly content such as hunts in the open world? we all gather in our towns doing nothing except maybe talking or poking each other. and anything that remotly involves our brain must be done through an instance.

    I've posted my ideas for content before and it's not unlike yours but I'd go with a labyrinth.


    It would have different paths and each path would have different ways to complete it. Some would focus on fighting gauntlet, others on puzzles, traps, some on a mix(mimics), some on finding a specific item etc... Roaming mobs, some that actively hunt you, at the end of each path would be some mechanic to do that pops a boss and at the same time has some mechanics to open up a main path to the end boss.

    You could try and just survive through the boss and do the mechanic to open the main boss door - this would require coordination from at least 6 4 man teams or do the mechanic and go do the other paths as well. I'm thinking some 12 paths but you only need 6 to unlock the boss and the paths would also start at different entrances. This would be a huge zone basically linking some other zones together. And I'd make it so that paths change as well. Once per week they would reshuffle have maybe some close/open parts of the path.

    Rewards would be crafting mats(from mobs, chests etc...), aetherial gear(chests, final boss), specific tokens(finish a path, finish a boss, finish the main boss) and some other things.

    The main boss would also be RNG based off of maybe some of the S ranks - so you shouldn't be able to bait a specific main boss based off paths.

    I would say minimal team size to complete this would be something like 24 people(6 4 man teams) and that's what it should be tuned to. I'd say path respawns should be around 10 minutes - so if you enter and start clearing 10 minutes after you entered the first killed mobs would be starting to respawn for the next teams. The mobs would start at B rank/dragonskin maps difficulity and increase with the path boss being an AA rank.

    Anyway a lot could be added as well but that's just my own idea(posted a few times around the place).

    only idea I got that would add customization & creativity would be: Player made dungeons

    1) select dungeon size (small is 1 boss, medium is 2 bosses, large is 3)
    2) select path layout & placement, room wise, of mob alloutment (not sure how many each size should get)
    3) select mob types & boss type
    4) select min and max item level difficulty & dungeon style for each room/hall
    5) save it & fight it (not sure if there should be rewards aside from a few tiered achivements)

    might be outa the Dev teams "buget" to make something that "Sandbox" level but at lest players could make some narly easy/hard battles

    Thanks for the respounce guys. sadly if the community does not speak it's a signal to developers that things as they are now are fine. maybe it's the new standard for MMOs now to put everything in instance and the community accepts this.

    let's say, it does look like an S rank to you, except it's a part of a tower or dungen that's inside the open world and not in instance, and it's possible u will meet others, while ur going thru a real world dungen who may choose to help, or watch u wipe and take over this monster from you if you fail. it adds a little more excitement, knowing if u fail this u gona wipe and die, and someone else might get a chance to defeat this.

    What is important is, not being able to simple teleport to get to that part of the dungen, for that i proposed having gates and monsters where u climb a tower and try to work your way up to the top etc. where with the help of alliance or such, u may get there faster, ete..

    I do not propose to remove the instancd raids or dugnens that we have, just add another layer of content on top of what we have, and let that content be in the open world, since hunts and beast tribes are no challange, we need open world challanges

    I think it was because....
    base on your idea, some ppl wanted gathering involved, some ppl wanted flying mounts involved, some ppl wanted a lot of players involved, some ppl wanted tokens, some ppl wanted premade, some ppl wanted DF-able, then some ppl wanted hunting in a sealed zone....etc

    Eventually it was implemented as Diadem...... ^^;
