Lucky I almost never see whm healers in there. That saids as sch i tell the other healer to go full dps, unless tanks have gone full str the margin for error is too small with them having 12k in hp.
It's not so much as ignoring mechanics because people are overgeared, but more about doing things for the sake of efficiency due to the relic grind. If someone can push away the bombs so the fight goes faster with an additional DPS, it's a more efficient plan. It's no surprise that people found the most time-efficient way to farm Garuda when the nexus grind was the thing. This is nothing new. When we have the gear and means to do something in a more efficient manner, it's worth a try.
oh ok, so purposely sabotaging your team is the answer, I guess.
Is it me or healers seems to be played by the most whiny and/or sensitive persons? I mean, I main healer and I do see tanks making threads about their frustrations, though it seems to be like 1 per month (not including new tanks). Meanwhile every week I see a thread about healers, sometimes made by the same person. wth.
Sounds like "Oh my god!1!1 I had a bad experience in-game / a difference in playstyle, what should I do? That's it! Post in the forums/GD to feel better about myself". Well, If you want to do that, ok, I can't force you otherwise, but it seems so... unnecessary. Yesterday I had a tank that wanted to do big pulls in Dusk Vigil (1 NIN / 1 DRG), we keep dying because of it, mass pulls with basically 0 CD usage. Instead of getting angry and making another thread, I just left the party, wow... I think some healers should try that or adapt to their party.
But this thread is about not having gear. Mechanic-skipping strats only work when healers can keep up - and if they're still getting geared up, they may struggle incredibly when trying to keep up with players who are used to dual 209 WHMs.It's not so much as ignoring mechanics because people are overgeared, but more about doing things for the sake of efficiency due to the relic grind. Often, I've found that not doing mechanics leads to a wipe, which counts as "purposely sabotaging your team." If you try to skip the mechanics and fail resulting in a wipe, when performing the mechanics would have meant success for the group, then it is detrimental. Look at it this way: mechanics may slow down the run by 30 seconds. A wipe is all of the time of the failed attempt(s) plus the 2-3 minutes it will take to get ready to try again (between rezzing, running back, and re-buffing) added to the time of the final attempt. Any time you try to skip mechanics, you're taking a gamble that it won't bite you in the arse.
If you willingly choose to abstain from a task that you could perform that would directly contribute to the success of the group, and it ends in failure, then you have just "purposefully sabotaged your team."

You never needed to be outgeared to heal through the bombs. But if you want the healers to help push the fight with the DPS then do the mechanics. If you force the healers to take up the slack for you not doing your job then expect a slow run.
I don't think that word ("efficient") means what you think it means. It certainly doesn't mean "take shortcuts that might get other people killed" (Hello, Leeroy tank, Healer staring at the parser and not the HP bars, and the DPS standing in an AoE area). It's not so much as ignoring mechanics because people are overgeared, but more about doing things for the sake of efficiency due to the relic grind. And with that the healer has become just as bad as the people expecting people to be good enough to skip mechanics all the time.
Whatever happened to talking in an MMO?
"Do you guys want to skip bombs this run?" ..."answers" majority wins and go on your way.
Communication goes a long way in this game.
Common courtesy is the first to go when the playerbase at large gets jaded of the stale (relic) grind.
