Calling a Warrior's strength natural is kind of like calling the Incredible Hulk's strength natural. In fact there are a lot of parallels. The Inner Beast is definitely a supernatural method of bolstering physical characteristics. The Strength and Toughness a Warrior can achieve outstrips what can naturally be achieved.
Its hard bringing PLDs into the discussion cause lore wise the nature of their abilities and the power behind it has never really been very well explained. Shame they didn't in the HW PLD story cause what we got was just confusing.
Disagree.Depends on many things. The longer the fight, the more it goes to DRK IMO. Both use massive weapons, both have a very "attack centric" style. In a short fight, WAR would overpower DRK. In a long fight the DRK gets angrier and angrier, puts more and more cuts on the WAR. The main advantage of DRK is two fold IMO:
ONE: He uses MAGIC along with regular strength, unlike WAR (mostly).
TWO: He has a split personality. He can go angry and wreck up people, essentially becoming a leech. Or, he can be calm and cool and play it safe and defensive (lots of ands there). Or he can do both.
Longer a fight goes on, the weaker a DRK gets. WAR have much better HP recovery and TP management, so they can just fight a war of attrition if they chose and just outlast the DRK.
You should save that Salted Earth for the Warrior. ;3
Lawl, agreed. 3 minutes in the DRK would be running on empty while the WAR beat his face in.
I remember other mmos that allowed open world duels, tank duels were all the rage. I have fun memories of /shouting "Tank FIGHT!" and people come running to watch. We got bored before raids so we'd do dumb stuff.
One in particular, it was the main tank from our raid versus a tank of a competing guild. That fight took for freaking ever lol...
That's why tank fights are so epic. Deeps fights are like the black and white japanese samurai movies. The two deeps stand apart, staring each other down and BOOM! one is dead instantly and one stands barely alive grinning. Tanks are different. Get your popcorn and your chair. It's more like watching two sumo fighters bouncing bellies. What happens when a unstoppable force meets a unmovable object?

I honestly have only just hit 30 on Warrior, but 60 on DRK. As DRK I can replinish HP and MP, and TP comes back naturally. Didn't realize WAR had that big of a moveset!
Dunno about lore stand point but if it were my stand point,Drk have about 30% win rate.Drk needs to finish the fight as fast as possible because he has limited mp.Also Drk can't just charge-in since War has better offensive,all Drk can do is go defensive and wait patiently for big swing such as Buther Block by Blocking 1-2 attack then counter with Dark Art + Carve and Spit while War do the 3rd overhead swing.
Equilibrium - 0 cast time 1200 potency heal or 200 TP restore, 60 second cd
Inner Beast - restores 100% of the damage dealt as HP
Storm's Path - restores 50% (?) of the damage dealt as HP
Bloodbath - traited to last 30 seconds
Second Wind - xclass from pugilist
To say nothing of the old Berserk/Fell Cleave and what kind of damage that does... or the fact that their 30% damage reduction cooldown also has a "stop hitting yourself!" reflect effect to it. Warrior would be crazy strong in 1v1. @_@
