From a lore standpoint if a WAR and a DRK were to fight to the death who would win?
From a lore standpoint if a WAR and a DRK were to fight to the death who would win?
WAR would be too busy telling the DRK to look at their mad deeps
DRK would be too busy being an Edgelord
So, neither.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
It ultimately depends on ability of that person. But I am inclined to think that a DRK will have a slight edge over WAR.
That andDerplander (a WAR) could not even beat a rogue (Thancred) in their fight
Probably a WAR, due to how aggressive it is. WARs feed on battles, so long as they don't wimp out and become a DRG![]()

Depends on many things. The longer the fight, the more it goes to DRK IMO. Both use massive weapons, both have a very "attack centric" style. In a short fight, WAR would overpower DRK. In a long fight the DRK gets angrier and angrier, puts more and more cuts on the WAR. The main advantage of DRK is two fold IMO:
ONE: He uses MAGIC along with regular strength, unlike WAR (mostly).
TWO: He has a split personality. He can go angry and wreck up people, essentially becoming a leech. Or, he can be calm and cool and play it safe and defensive (lots of ands there). Or he can do both.
If we're comparing the primal forces that empower both Warriors and Dark Knights, it really is one-sided. While yes, Warriors are capable of intense destruction and possess extremely powerful bodies, they are, at the end of the day, a mere mortal. They are using their own body, and their body's own aether to fight. A Dark Knight in contrast, isn't relying on themselves, they are tapping into the vast wellspring of aether inside of the Abyss to power their abilities, their emotions meanwhile serve as the conduit. We see the full, unbridled strength of a Warrior in their level 50 Job quest, however, we see merely our Esteem, a fraction of ourselves, manifested with the full power of a Dark Knight. The mob known as Esteem can produce gravity wells, ancient dark magic that Diabolos used against us when he had first awakened and by extension, was supremely weakened; our Esteem also conjured Shadow Sprites, a creature we have only ever seen when fighting Ascians; our Esteem also possessed physical abilities that greatly surpassed our own, able to move faster than we could, had more stamina than we do, and could even seemingly teleport instantly across the battlefield. Put simply, it's a case of natural vs. supernatural, and generally, supernatural will win.
Something... something... edginess... shadows... wait... I'm supposed to be a paragon of love and justice!
I think what your asking is from a lore perspective is the Warrior's Inner Beast or the Dark Knight's Darkness a stronger source. I'd say they are probably about equal though we have a much better understanding of the potential of the Inner Beast that the Dark Knight's Darkness as we have Warrior legends that are referenced.
The two powers seem to work in very different ways. The Inner Beast acts as a doping effect, effectively dramatically bolstering the Warrior's physical strength, endurance and instincts. As a result Warrior's are capable of feats of Physical strength a dark knight, and for that matter probably any other job could manage. Such as tearing the arms of a Behemoth with their bare hands. Effectively Warriors Hulk out. Dark Knights on the other hand harness the darkness within themselves and manifest it to augment their attacks and defence magically.
In a fight it would entirely depend on the individuals and their surroundings. On a purely power level I'd say they were pretty even though.

Yah, I will admit, it was cool seeing all those abilities. Makes me wish MY DRK could use all the moves that were thrown against us. Or even unlock, completely, for a second, our inner darkness instead of just channeling it.
Who wins? The Paladin standing in the corner with a bucket of popcorn. :3
