Healing for Thok ast Thock Extreme (Using the Duty Finder)

So, I just ran Thok ast Thok extreme for the first time... Let me tell you, that was a nightmare.

I watched MTCQueds' how-too you-tube video 4-5 times before entering que. So I was fairly confident with the 5 D's of Dodge-ball (Duck-dodge-Dip-Dive and Dodge). Well, I was naive. My confidence was shattered after we took him down to 50% hp the first time. Then subsequently our group kept getting worse and worse. Until finally (around the 6th time our group wiped). The tank told me, "English, No thanks" and I was kicked from the group.

I mean, yeah I get it. After the first wipe (all but 2 of us died at the same time that time). I died with the groups of individuals getting minced up. I get that. But it was also my first time. And for them to point me out as the cause of the wipes. They can suck it!

    Am I wrong?

Also, on the first attempt. Everyone wiped at the same time except me, the other healer, and the two tanks. We stayed alive maybe for 1-2mins before we all died together. So yeah! I was doing good with the dodge mechanics. It just sucked when the I got marked up (on two seperate attempts). I ran to my designated position. And saw 2 other guys (obviously confused) run to my marker. 1 shotting me and 5 others.

First rule of EX primal fights

    Never use duty finder

Second rule of EX primal fights

    NEVER USE DUTY FINDER!

Party finder can be your friend more than Duty Finder (99% of the time anyways)

Run dual monitor setup with google translate open up on my second monitor. And wow... they completely hate foreigners in there group. We took him down too 25% hp on the first attempt. Scholar got knocked off the platform. The tank started to spam, "Eye for an Eye" because I wasn't casting that on him. So. as an F U to the group. I ran next too the edge (without railing) and waited for him to punt me off.

Ahhhhhh that made me feel so much better.

Also, since I'm on a J server. What other option besides duty finder do I have? I can't group up with people. Unless I find a multi-lingual individual(s). So, transfer servers to EN? To be honest I'm only doing thok ast thok for the whm cane. I could skip it without a second thought. However what other dungeons (besides primal ex's) are recommended doing with friends/within your community?

You get hated on by Japanese on their servers? ouch from everything I've seen and read about the JP servers, their meant to be the nicest and most friendly group of people in this whole game

    Maybe you just got unlucky

trick with running into idiots on Duty Finder is, that's pretty much their only option, Party finder people are more often that not, capable, experienced and friendly, but they don't put up with idiots being idiots.

You can't be the only English speaking gamer on Carbuncle tbh, chuck a party finder add up, with Rav EX being fairly old content now, you might have to wait a while for the party to fill but it would be a lot better than Duty Finder tbh

Failing that, yes Transfer to an English speaking server.

Even the nicest of JP players I met who helped me and friends through Relic Reborn quest in 2.0 had reacted by saying "Why are you in our server?" when I said I wasn't a JP player.
Just a narrow/closed off mentality thing.

There are extremists in JP servers, like being kicked automatically for saying "Hello!" at the start of a dungeon in English and immediately being accused of being American and kicked.
(Don't take offense please - somehow speaking English = American to such ppl)
    /shrug it's just a common input language...

Most recently my friend is now socially blocked from joining most Thordan EX groups on PF, even if it isn't his fault for wipes and was on his top game reaching final 20% alive every time.
It's just easier to blame someone else than one of your own.

Racist shenanigans & stories aside, my FC and seemingly many EN players stay low, try to be better than others and avoid getting picked into a fight.
Just want to enjoy the game!

But people will be people :P

XD just a pissy & discontent tank picking a fight.
Having a probability buff like Eye for an Eye on him isn't gonna balance having lost one healer off platform, I'm sure he/they/we all know.

Near my last runs on Ravana, I had spent a whole part of a day (about 10 hours) doing just Ravana EX as a Tank with just 1 clear to show cuz "Final Liberation" kept wrecking JP DF groups.
I could have been pissy like that too at other players like that tank hahaha... but my faith is intact XD

The very last run I did for my last Ravana weapon was a perfect run but I got disconnected at last 10%.
I was leaping in panic and fuming because I've about had it with Ravana. I thought I lost my last token I needed.
But when I reconnected and loaded in, both JP healers were waiting for me while the rest of party had left.

    <Welcome back!> They said!

for healers, the Ravana Ex is never easy on your first time. well, unless youre really good and pick up things quickly. just keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it, you can even do dps in downtimes when you got comfortable with the fight.

as for the 'gaijin/foreigners hate', i think it was mostly caused by the rude attitude of many english players. been playing for a year, and honestly i never met that kind of hostility towards me (hopefully i dont have to.). i found that if you take time with using the auto-translate feature (for 'hello' and 'thank you, have a nice journey'), do your job well, and apologize after you made mistakes, it would be just fine.
but please note that this is based on my personal experience.

But.. but.. but... I thought the JP DF was a magical land of one-shots, hefty tax returns and unicorn farts? Just goes to show that the grass is not always greener and that our Western assumptions may be a smidge too broad.
