No different than PLing, which Yoshi is okay with. If one or more people want to waste their time boosting your exp gain, he's cool with it.

That seems a little more difficult than Ifrit, just saying...
The top 0.5% of all active arena teams.

    - They will argue that PvE'ers or "carebears", as I'm sure all non-PvP'ers will be referred to once word gets around, don't deserve good rewards because PvE isn't as challenging as PvP.
    - They'll insist that "PvP is what MMORPGs are all about and so that's where the best rewards should be"...

I know there's more, but that's what I can remember off the top of my head.

I enjoy PvP myself and have played a number of strictly PvP MMOs. However, thank goodness it's going to be sectioned off into its own areas in this game. FFXIV is a PvE MMO first with PvP as an option... that's all it should be.

Of course, that's something else some among the "hardcore PvP" crowd will certainly be complaining about. It's just not "real PvP" unless it's wide-open and they can attack anyone, anywhere at any time. Then, they can go into the newbie areas to gank and harass all the low level players while they're questing, take all their stuff and then stand over them gloating at how uber they are for killing the equivalent of a level 3 mob when they're level 30.

Killing players far weaker than themselves makes those people hardcore after all.

Yes, that last statement was entirely sarcastic.
    Umm... what?

As a self-procalimed hardcore PvP'er I've never heard of any of this stuff. The only thing I would ever complain about is balance. As long as they maintain balance and make adjustments I don't care if PvP is open world, in your neighbors backyard, in a coliseum, on a separate zone, whatever.

PvE = Carebear? What, first time I've heard this... sounds pretty girly and lame. You should probably assume you can turn PvP off or it will be exclusive to PvP areas since we didn't have a choice to join a PvE or PvP server. So there is no chance for a level 50 to roflstomp a level 3. And even if that happened... you're not going to be able to steal there gear.

Of course there is going to be PvP rewards, whether its in the form of good pvp gear, aesthetics, titles, money.. whatever. I'm a PvP achievement skank, I'll aim for the top and /flex when I get there.

    People have no logic.

I see what you are saying, but I have never seen something like that in an MMO, where a higher level player can "farm" lower level characters to benefit their lowbie friends. Even FFXI had level brackets, I almost think you just made that up! xD!! In WoW for example, that just isn't possible at all, battlegrounds have level brackets and you don't gain exp from killing players directly, you earn the experince after the battleground is finished, and the victors gain the most exp.

Yeah I'm fairly certain (although still a guess) that the PvP exp'ing is going to work like WoW. You get exp for participating and winning / losing. You get more exp for a win and a set amount for kills / flag captures / territory take over etc..

Open world PvP... if they even have this ... will not reward huge exp. Even if you got the same amount as killing a normal mob, the dead "friend" enemy would have to return or run back to there body. So... explain how you could ever PL someone like that.
