Why do you think he didn't put in as much effort as you did?But speaking on the side of what i know will be said: If i don't PvP all day and a guy just walks out of an arena with gear or rewards just as good as mine when i took however long to get face-rolled by Ifrit and orges and the like..on top of leve or xp grinding..i'd be pissed.
My guess would be that people who level through PvP only want to PvP so they will learn their class as it pertains to PvP. Don't really see that as a problem.
Lol, I seriously hope that was a troll, otherwise it was ignorance on your part!
This is just one of the many ways to level up your character, you can still grind on monsters all day long if you really wanted to! Also, for the people who want to spend their time PvPing, what sort of PvP knowledge would someone gain from grinding on monsters? Leveling up by doing PvP would give them the skills to compete in level 50 PvP. And judging by an additional snippet, the PvP knowledge would really come in handy!Yes. However, you have to reach a certain level before you can participate in PvP content, so one must familiarize themselves with basic Eorzea rules before participating in such activities.
Your argument goes both ways! :P4Gamer:
なるほど。せっかくワールドレスというシステムがあるわけですから,将来的にはワールドごとのPvPラダー上位5名ずつとかで,ワールド対抗戦みたいなイベントもできそうですね。
4Gamer:
I see. So you're saying that because the worldless design in already in place, you could in essence implement a feature where the top 5 players of which world will be able to compete with other top 5 players in other worlds.
okay...nowhere in that entire thing did i mention WoW...there are alot of other games that existed in the intergalctic space time continuum before WoW was an itch in blizzard's pants. My point, or my personal stance, which i mentioned first...and you seemed to MISS, was that weather or not you PvP, if you choose to engage in the content, you should not..repeat NOT be crippled by the fact that you are in PvP gear...which yes, among other games, WoW does. Some of my thoughts: The best gear for PvP was not the best gear for raiding, due to resilience. So I don't really understand what you are talking about there. Also, on the topics of some of the rewards for PvPing in WoW, take the exclusive mounts for example, they were only rewarded to the top, what, 5% of all PvPers? That seems a little more difficult than Ifrit, just saying...
Secondly, if you don't know the Ifrit fight and get slapped in the face with 9,999 damage, that seems a slight bit more "omgwtfbbq" than some hunter on WoW hitting me with a frost trap in PvP while his rouge buddy facerolls his keyboard to stunlock me.
And the second part of my post wasn't even me speaking for me, it was more like "I know someones going to imply or say this..so i may as well be the first." ...personally i don't care weather you sit in a PvP arena or in front of the entrance to Darkhold, my point was, you nor the other guy, should miss out.

I was merely using an example I figured you would be familiar with, which, judging by your post, you are indeed very familiar with. While I agree that I would not like to see gear that has stats such as resilience, I do not agree that those who chose to PvP should not be rewarded with gear that is at least competitive. As Wolfie pointed out, who are you to say they aren't putting in just as much effort as you are?okay...nowhere in that entire thing did i mention WoW...there are alot of other games that existed in the intergalctic space time continuum before WoW was an itch in blizzard's pants. And as far as them rewarding you with a mount, grats, you got a mount that in just 3 short weeks they will just sell on the blizzard site for 4.99...GG!
Also I would like to point out that this thread was on the topic of leveling up in PvP, and not the rewards, however I regret to inform you, they have stated that there will indeed be rewards to those who decide they want to PvP. I think that is cool, though.
Again, i'll restate...if a person decides to level soley in PvP..they should be (and i hope they are) rewarded for what they have put into it. however if they decided to say ...engage in something NON PvP...the fact they are IN PvP gear...or have leveled soley in PvP...should not be made..or seen as a hinderance...my point again, all should be allowed to move about the game freely. what i'm trying to say is that i AGREED with the inclusion of PvP...but the second part of the original post which you all have focused on, was me saying that in the role of an opposing argument which i have NO agreeance with.
Oh I totally agree that transitioning from PVP to PVE should be seamless like that.Again, i'll restate...if a person decides to level soley in PvP..they should be (and i hope they are) rewarded for what they have put into it. however if they decided to say ...engage in something NON PvP...the fact they are IN PvP gear...or have leveled soley in PvP...should not be made..or seen as a hinderance...my point again, all should be allowed to move about the game freely. what i'm trying to say is that i AGREED with the inclusion of PvP...but the second part of the original post which you all have focused on, was me saying that in the role of an opposing argument which i have NO agreeance with.
What I don't agree with is that PVP takes more effort than PVE, or vice versa, and that one should offer better rewards than the other. They should both offer similar rewards for similar time and effort investment, with aesthetic differences and perhaps some minor stat/usability differences.
This is like the most toned down conversation on pvp ever. I typically don't like PvP but its dependent on the game. I agree with Wolfie, that gear period should reflect the time you put into so, you put a lot of time into PvP you have awesome PvP gear, and awesome PvE gear for the opposite. I also agree neither one should be better than the other really, at level 30 and level 50 there pieces should be pretty much optimal for two different situations, but still usable in PvE and PvP. Wow this is a really level headed nice thread.
leveling from PvP? oh that wont get abused.....na...... *sigh*
Yeah, I hate it when you guys agree with me! >=(This is like the most toned down conversation on pvp ever. I typically don't like PvP but its dependent on the game.
