Minstrel Class Suggestion

Immediately makes me think of the Minstrel Class from LotRO, which was a healer class there as well. However, that being said, I'm not sure we currently need another Healer job at the moment, at least not until they can bring AST into a position where it's truly competitive with WHM and SCH. I'd rather them focus on that then spend time developing a completely new job, but that's my opinion on the matter.

So many falsehoods with this statement. You take the past before the job was buffed and somehow magically assume it still applies.

Um... what? Yes, AST was buffed, but it's still not on par as a healer with WHM and SCH. WHM + SCH is still the desirable combination of healers for content, and it is very rare to find AST as a desired option over either job where people will elect to have to choose between AST of equal gear/ability over a WHM or SCH.

Just for clarification, I am not saying that AST is not viable in a party make up, a well-played AST can still make content doable. However, its heals and shields are still not quite on par with WHM and SCH, and the card system can be a bit too unpredictable to really be a good gap-closer.... also, once more in my opinion.

I was actually talking to a friend about this before, and we kinda agreed with this (the part about not needing more healers, not the part about AST). Currently healers have a trinity that consists of DPS healer (SCH), pure healer (WHM), and utility/support healer (AST), and there really isnt anywhere else to go other than to fit new healers into one of these 3 archetypes, in which case we have classes fighting for space (not a such problem, so long as the class is unique enough to have it come down to personal preference over playstyle).
