Lately I've been occupying myself with working on Anima weapons up to i200. As I've done so, I began to wonder what people think of the weapons in comparison to the Esoterics weapons.
Which one would you choose for your non-main jobs?

Normally I would spend the tomes on armor for my alts rather than a weapon I wouldn't get much use out of, but since esoteric armor is limited to specific jobs, they are both sort of a waste. I've actually started collecting more jewelry and belts with esoterics, since you can upgrade those and equip them to multiple jobs. I mostly tank and heal, so I'm looking forward to two sets in 3.2 (fending and healing) rather than the six sets I would currently need to farm to play all 6 tank and healer jobs.
That being said, for a non-raider like myself, Esoteric weapons won't likely hit ilevel 210 until patch 3.2. After 3.2, it would be significantly less work to get a 210 weapon from esoterics, assuming the upgrade item gets added to Void ark's weekly reward.
So for now, Anima is a possible 210 that requires a ton of work. After 3.2, esoteric will be a much easier 210 gated by a weekly reward rather than a soul crushing grind.

All three Awoken healer weapons are better than their Eso counterparts, IMO.

Esoterics if you got the eso to blow and not put into a class, but if you are 6x 60s like me, do some Esos and some Anima Awokens, super easy, can be done quickly, and as long as your only picking the classes you prefer (for me it's MCH, AST, and WAR) then the Awoken will be the +1 of the Eso weapon.

For bard the awoken/anima is better than the esoterics weapon.
Eso because I would only need to cap tomes for a few weeks instead of doing horrible grinds.
450/week takes 3 weeks for the eso wep; in that time you could farm multiple relic weapons at the same ilvl, and either get an eso chest & ring or any other combination of eso gear.

Which weapon you want to go for is a balance between what is best for your Job, what you want to invest your time in and what your ultimate goal is. For the first piece you can always look here: Ariyala's Final Fantasy XIV Toolkit. For the second and third, that's entirely up to your discretion of what content interests you, what time you have to invest and what goals you have set for what you want to do with your character.
Awoken i200 are better than Eso i200 for most jobs like MNK, BRD, WAR, DRK, etc. So if you can handle the crystal grind, I say go for it. You can save on three weeks worth of Esoteric tomes with just a few hours of grinding if you're lucky.

I generally prefer getting Awoken weapons, as I like to spend Esoterics on stuff for glamour.
