I was pondering this myself for PLD but after 3 hours of grinding FATEs for a grand total of 1 crystal I broke and bought the Eso as I had the tokens already. RNG sucks, always has and always will.

Both are fine!

My advice: ONLY go for relic lv200 if you still have classes to gain XP for that Fategrind/Crystals.
or else you just waste your time by only collecting crystals and let the XP go waste >.>

I collected 2x the whole set of crystals. Always took around 100 fates. I only used classes that can gain XP
Other step for lv200 upgrade is "only(?)" do 10 different dungeons. (6x lv50, 4x lv51-58)
(I collected these crystals for the new classes I still havent hit to lv60 yet )

If you go for Eso weapon - it takes 14x expert run Roulete. but it needs 3 weeks because of 450 tome cap.

For a DRK, the awoken/Anima is better than the eso. DET and CRIT beats DET and SkS.
