In Regards to Lost Commendations

A lot of the times, when I queue into a Dungeon/Trial, immediately after the run, people will quit out faster than it takes to load the end, thus resulting in lost commendations. I'm not saying that I deserved those commendations, but a lot of the times, those commendations are just wasted. We have an achievement for receiving them, so how about one for giving them? Make the set goal higher than receiving, and the reward a minion or mount, like the 500 commendations received. Because it's really hard to get 3000 commendations when everyone leaves right after the run. And, more than likely, SE will make a higher commendation reward available in the foreseeable future.

Due to playerbase opinion and playstyle, the only way to give incentive players to actually give a hoot and use the commendation feature would be to greatly increase the benefit of giving a commendation.

Until this happens, we will still see players acting as if the commendation feature doesn't even exist.

My experience - havling slightly longish load times - is that some people will leave even before I can give them a commendation. I don't know if they give a commendation to anybody or not before they leave.

This isn't true. I don't hand out commends to hand them out. I give them to people who explain fights, people who are new who do a good job, or people who do something clutch in a fight when things get hairy. Work for your commends, and you shall get them. Merely saying hi, isn't gonna get you anything from me, anybody can do that.

What party member will you commend if a tank pulls 6-10 packs of mobs and the party live through this pull and win? Will it be Tank for proper use of his CDs, evading AoE and holding agro? Maybe it will be Heal for keeping party alive? Or it will be DD (alas only 1 of them) for doing good DPS and killing all mobs before healer run out of mana? And bear in mind that if any of them fail the entire party will die. So, which member of this imaginable party will impress you? :-)

None of them. This is basic dungeoun stuff.

Back when getting that Gilded Magitek was a thing, it was common DF policy to swap Comms; Tank><Healer, Dps><Dps. I haven't done a lot of DF till recently with the new relic out, but I have noticed that house rule has fallen wayside.

Sidenote: Giving 5 comms weekly grants xp through the challenge log, so sorta an achievement.

People aren't owed commendations. If a person wants to give them, that's great. But it's not an entitlement, it's a nice perk. I will usually commend the one person in the run who stood out to me the most. But sometimes I've left without leaving one because I didn't particularly think anyone deserved one.

I make sure to ALWAYS give commendations. Most of times, not to the highest scoring player, but to the one whom company was most enjoyable. Even if, by forum standards, they would be called a 'scrub'.

When I read the caption I tho it was suggesting to add a "lost commendation button", so the player will lost a commendation if someone vote him... ^^;
