A good PC makes all the difference when you play this game

I've been playing this game for almost 2 months and have gotten my gear to ilvl 193 after playing at my own leisurely pace.

During the almost 2 months of playing my system was operating as a measly 10 fps on the lowest settings possible.

Eventually, I got fed up and replaced my computer, spending about $500 for the tower and $100 for the monitor, then I replaced the graphics card with a better one for about $125 (Go amazon prime!)

Now my PC operates at High (Desktop) graphics at 60 fps in a majority of dungeons. The difficulty drop between playing on my old computer vs my new one is pretty steep.

For instance, when I did Titan hard mode on my old PC dodging landslide was impossible unless I was able to instantly react (No, it's not my ping, I can barely dodge an aoe and 9 times out of 10 it'll work.)

Fast forward to yesterday when I ran Titan extreme with some friends for the first time and his 6 direction landslide during his final phase was nothing more than a bad joke.

Playing with low FPS was pretty much playing the game on hard mode every time I logged in, and now that I've played the game in hard mode everything is just so much easier. I find myself dodging aoes that I normally would have barely dodged with a lot of time to spare.

It's a bit unclear how much slower a person with low fps is compared to a person with high fps, but fractions of a second make a pretty big difference when it comes to dodging things.

So, if you run into a person with a bad computer who is having difficulty dodging mechanics or moving out of things in time, just remember they're playing on a higher difficulty setting than you.

Just abit of story on my side, I had the same kind of situation as yours before. I used to play the game on a super low fps of 10~15 on a cheap laptop that I never even tried to clear the titan hm for my relic back then because I kept getting landslides (Friend forced me to clear it by carrying me in the end anyway). Then when hunt came out on 2.3, I had hard time loading between maps and to have the mark show up on my screen from all those people during peak hours and had to rely on that lucky Miasma II hit on the hunt to have full credits from a full party. Everything was so slow and unresponsive, my character running under sprint couldn't even catch up with non-sprinting players.

Then I too, fed up with the laptop and decided to get a better one just so I can play the game (and multitask/tab) which was still in middle of 2.3. Despite not the best laptop for gaming but it runs the game decently at least (50 fps on high setting) and very first thing I did after successfully login from the new laptop is to queue right into titan hm and dodge landslides like a fairy and then proceed to clear T5 / levi and all the extreme trials that I hold off because I can't dodge before.

This makes me feel extremely better.

I tried a pony farming party for Titan last night and it was pretty awful. I only managed to not fall off during phase 3 for one round out of the 20+ attempts we made? And in my head I've been doing the whole, "Is it me, or is it my PC?" thing. Assuming everyone would tell me it's just me. I'm still new to titan so I just figured I hadn't gotten a proper "grasp" on it and was failing.

I'm too poor for a new PC, but at least this makes me feel better about my sucky dodging abilities. I currently get 10-12fps on most content. (Not to mention I have net issues, but that's another story altogether).

Thanks for making me feel better <3.

I played this game for a year and a half at 12 fps, 3 on a bad day. I even tanked turn 10 like that, I had so little time to react and even less to get out of death aoes xD at some point my netbook was overheating so much I put it in the freezer and then I could continue tanking t10. good times xD

Then I upgraded and it was amazing just how much time being able to dodge fast frees up xD also being able to see your animations in full and fairies not looking like they are about to die every second (their wings move really slow at low fps).

LOL I had exactly the same experience. I could not consistently dodge the 6 way landslides no matter how much I tried to pay attention and move soon enough.
Often I'd get hit by the single landslide even and the weight of land just messed up my video.

    I figured I just sucked...

Then I got a nice new PC with a wired connection (laptop previously was just wireless at the time).

Soon much easier to dodge those things - they are actually there for a while and there is time to react before they go off. Plus now I can actually see them every time too.

(although admittedly at times I still suck but that has nothing to do with the PC)

A good pc is important. Idk how people play this game at <30 fps. It was impossible for me to tank guruda ex on my old laptop when my frames drop from 40 to 10 as the feathers dropped

    Practice and patience
Literally I have to memorize some battles if I want to be good at them...patience because sometimes my laptop says "Nope this is too much gotta just freeze for a minute, I'll update you in a sec" as I just sit and stare at my screen. "Guess I should close Chrome," I say to myself.
