I'm with those that gives commendations because it's part of the game. I don't care if everyone did their job well, that others don't give any. We need 3000 commendations. I don't know for you, but it can take years before you get that achievement, given by.. other players that thinks they are gods and only give them if they believe the person played the way he/she wanted it. Simply amazed.

I find it sad; even if I'm done with my weekly bonus, anytime the commends pops up, I'll give one.

The only time I won't is when people are rude.

This game, some will view it as too easy, some hard.. some will think Tank/Healer is easy when you check them they only have DPS leveled.. so their point is moot to me.

This just prove: give the freedom to the players, and you end up with an overpriced Market Board lololol

Really humans always surprise me. Can't believe we are not extinct by now.

I guess it's asking too much for dps classes at ilvl 209 to do more dps than a tank at 197.

My friends and I have a simple rule. If we queue in to a duty and there is one random they get all comms unless they are offensive.

I also give comms after every duty except for those times when I feel people were not trying and were just being lazy.

For example, Last time I ran Braflox (normal) the bard would stop attacking. It became clear when the mobs were taking far too long to die. I called the bard out but what was really interesting happened on the next pull. I pulled the mobs, bard was furthest away from the group, he runs in does a few attacks then starts auto attacking. All of a sudden him TP drops to zero and he is just standing there. Called him out on it but he decided to run and open a chest. Did not role on it and did not join in on attacking the next group of mobs. Got tot he boss and he decided to get locked out.

Healer although new left him alone and didn't bother to heal him at all.

I give commendations 85% of the time. The other 15% is when the player leaves before I could commend him/her.

Why rush to exit? Wave or type something, 2~4 seconds won't hurt

I'm a firm believe recommendations should only be received when someone did something good.

If i have a crappy party and they all sucked(Their playstyle not their gear or w/e) I will not give it away.
If i see someone doing good, or making good judgement calls he'll get my commendation.

DPS - Good dps + doing mechanics & dodge.
Healers - Keep everyone alive + dps
Tank - Keep hate, Know mechanics/mobs - extra dps - Not spinning mobs around like some fool.

Thats what i might judge people on, Will also judge on wether they are nice/friendly etc.
And yeah, Some people just wont give commendations. Honestly, i once saved Levi EX in DF, got every single com! Had the same thing happening to garuda EX after probably 60-70 minutes in, Everyone was just annoyed lot item, went off i'm assuming.
Explained the whole fight, was calling out in the fight what people should do to remind.

I mean, that just how it goes. sometimes you get em, sometimes you don't and the 300 achievement, Is a joke. Isn't it just another fat chocobo that looks really similar?

This is me as well. Especially now that the "Mentor System" will have a commendation requirement.

DPS that go above and beyond with above par or especially masterful rotation management get a com. Healers that manage to stance dance, keep buffs up, and keep the party alive, all while adapting to the chaos that the team causes, they get a com. A tank that never loses agro, supports and communicates with the team when necessary, and is nearly unkillable with his damage mitigation (especially DRKs) gets a com.

But half assing, being rude, insubordination/ "lone wolfing" (this game is team based after all, not single player), and/or giving new players a hard time guarantees no com. And occasionally results in no one getting a com.

If no one is exceptional but everyone is polite (aka, a silent speed run) if I do opt for a com it's to someone who stood out in battle.

Thus why I prefure Paladin. It's dammage is a bit lower but overall it has great survivability. Especially now that we have a viable healing spell of our own. (Even though it's MP cost is kinda high, it isn't needed often so it's a good fall back)

So if Paladin gets some dammage buffs and a few mods for MP/TP management I'll officially be able to tank with confidence again.
