Main story quests, replayable?

Will there ever be an option for those that have played through the story once be able to retake the main story quests with the same character so it can be played with little breaks? (Mainly run through all the story with endgame glamoured gear to see my character take down foes in this epic gear I wear now.)
Or will we be ever stuck running through again as a new character. Being bogged down by leveling stops.
Or when I take a break from the game I'm not forced to start a new character to remember what happened, because I'm lazy to read all them pages in the journal telling me what I've done.

Sadly it will never happen because the whole point of the main storyline is it's 'once only' and is a linear ongoing journey basically - having said that you're always able to simply go back and undertake various story dungeons and trials as many times as you want even after completing them for the main storyline, also if it's cutscenes you want just view them through the Unending Journey (although I admit finding specific story cutscenes can be tricky in that). Other FF games have never allowed you to 'redo a story quest/mission' over and over so I don't see this happening here (FFXI especially never had such an option either).

Even just being able restart a completed mission by clicking on an option in the journal would be cool reviewing older context to emerce myself in the story even more

Sadly that may be the state of things. I'm not worried with starting another but to skip alot of fluff the second time through would be nice. ( sorry for other post this forum is not well supported on my mobile device. And can't seem to use the edit function)

I would love to see this happen and have thought about this myself. Having repeated content wouldn't be difficult to program on a developmental end other than the rewards and scripts that focus on it's progression.

If the dev team was to take the rewards, progression and re-script the quests to make them repeatable then I honestly will see people coming back to this but as people are using PF for end-game and DF as well with also the journal in the inns to replay cutscenes I doubt it's top priority.
